famous for steak sandwich. and only that. one of durbans oldest eateries, and for that reason should be placed on ones foodie bucketlist. try the steak sandwich. only.

i have been eating their steak special since my high school days, standards are still the same. great! i no longer live in durban but one thing for sure when i am visiting there’s no visit without a steak special from crystals. it’s best for takeaways for the locals the sandwich is no the pricy side.

well i finally got to taste the legendary steak sandwich, it was nice tasty, nothing to really rave about, pricey for finely shredded steak sandwich.

legendary steak sandwchs that no one can beat! i can never finish the two slices as it's huge and juicy 😂 a bit pricey for a sandwich but yeah once in a while it's good. try the kebab and roti or the prawn chutney in roti. very yumm! they also make a good old school style mutton burger 👍

i felt the steak sandwich was a bit pricey however it was huge! i just about managed to finish it. loaded with soft, shredded steak, sauce, chips and green peppers. it was quite tasty.

a taste of classic and historical fast food in durban. the steak, chicken and veg sandwiches are amazing. packed with tasty filling and their amazing crystals sauce. their masala chips are also a must have. my regular stop every time i am down in durban!

crystals steak sandwiches are legendary and very nostalgic...my school tuckshop used to sell them...and it was always a treat when u had extra pocket money. years later the steak sandwiches are still good...soft steak, saucy and chips in a toasted sandwich...nicely priced too:-)

not located in a very safe place & parking on the street & no place to eat inside
however i consider their burger & steak sandwich to be the best.
very expensive but worth it as food delicious

crystals sandwich man's never fails to deliver. despite its location in the heart of town. the little shop's reputation still proving size is nothing compared to quality. i ordered the legendary double steak sandwich. r72 gets you more than your expectations. i loved every bite i got. keep it up guys. only if they had more stores in other areas, they would be well on their way as a franchise☺️

crystals has been synonymous with the best steak sandwich in town. my husband who was having it for the first time could not understand what the fuss was about and i must say i agree.
it is located in a very congested part of town and is not easily located, parking is nightmare.
the sandwich is pricey but has a liberal filling of steak, chips and salad; i found it too spicy and could not finish the sandwich. disappointed in the overall sandwich.

been eating her since i was a kid. best takeaway in durban since forever. steak sandwich and schwarma is to die for. worth the pricetag. everything ive eaten here was fingerlicking. location is not convenient but well worth going out of your way for. must taste in life!

this has always and will probably always be the tastiest steak sandwich in durban! i have also tried the kebab roti which is delicious, however toasted steak sandwich is still my favourite and my all time "go to sandwich" option when im durban!

no doubt crystals has the tastiest steak sandwich in town - i should say in the whole of sa (i haven't really travelled out of sa) but at the r55 price tag - we limited to having it just once in a while and that too is the family sharing from 2 sandwiches just to kill the craving but...

recently i've just discovered a place that in my opinion has the closest steak sandwich to crystals - it's called mamoo's sandwich shack & it's in overport - so central. at the ridiculous price they charge - i get to eat 2 of these sandwiches all for my self at only r20 each - that's still cheaper than crystals for both sandwiches.

greasy, huge and delicious steak sandwiches are what they are famous for, sure the price seems way out for a sandwich but you have to try them. in fact, i dare you to only try it once! best enjoyed in the car, parked off with friends.
the location is a bit dodge so best have someone jump off and pick up food so you can stay ready to drive off.

the crystals signature sauce is also pretty great and you can pick up a bottle and attempt to recreate the sandwich monster at home (don't hold your breath)
