the food is great upstairs and downstairs. the food and atmoshere is wonderful! salmon and garlic noodels was just fantastic and i'll even try eating downstairs too. one thing i don't do is go out to dinner on any hallmark holiday. even the best resturants have a difficult time maintaining quailty and service for the masses that believe in that type of hoilday! eat well and enjoy this place, it's great!!!

i’ve been going to crustacean for 20 years. on mother’s day they had a special in which they did not honor. the manager and the part owner were extremely rude when i demanded they honor the special they advertised. the part owner told me he is the omega and i can’t speak to anyone higher that him. he also went so far as to say he could careless who i tell about the treatment he gave me. he said tell who ever you want. i don’t care. the next few days they pulled the same scam on my friend however honored her request when she demanded they honor their advertisement. when she got her order not only did they not honor the advertisement as agreed they purposely didn’t put items in her bag she paid for. crustacean customer service has gone down tremendously over the years and i will never step foot in the establishment again after the horrible treatment i received. the phone calls with the manager and the part owner left me in tears for a few days. that is how bad they treated me.

this is the restaurant that i always went when i was living in la, and i always come back to this place, today was different cause the doorman was not polite and told us that the restaurant was full and could not accommodate us, i did not know if it was because we brought our kids with us. either way, the doorman or the greeter name was steven, and so we left and i was wondering if he was telling the truth so we called the restaurant and tried to book, the hostess said we could have a table in 30 minutes, so we decided to come back. when we came back, the greeter again was trying to deny our booking, the reason now was because i was wearing short which i always wear everywhere in la to many nice places like mastros, madeo and etc, especially in summer, therefore, being persistent and liking this restaurant, i argued again and we can be seated at the patio, anyway the food and everything was great, i just wished that they were more friendly and not being too uptight.

by guest blogger bryan tsunoda @btsunoda crustacean in beverly hills has been around for quite some time. the roasted crab and their famous garlic noodles are crowd pleasers and what crustacean is best known for. despite its name, crustacean is so much more than that and i recently had the opportunity to sample some of their new offerings. crustacean is also known for its “secret kitchen.” a closed door kitchen within a kitchen, it’s where some of the restaurant’s most coveted dishes are prepared. since their opening in 1997, only six dishes have been created in the secret kitchen. now, there's a new secret kitchen item that we'll be tasting tonight. as i entered crustacean, a three piece jazz ensemble provided entertainment to the bar patrons. the walk on water entrance features a serpentine shaped aquarium that doubles as a floor. it was obvious that crustacean is still a place to be seen as everyone seated at the bar had the required ‘look’. our group was led outside through the sid

the epic dish of choice is the crab garlic noodles. if you are not doing this then you are not doing it big. the crab is roasted nicely with garlic and spices. add the garlic noodles and we’re living nice life for that hour. the dish tops $60 or so dollars but you only live once. plus you’re in beverly hills and might run into meagan good. share this: twitter facebook google like this: like loading... january 4, 2014 in asian food , los angeles food . tags: crab , garlic noodles related posts

i have two words for you: garlic noodles. it’s impossible to talk about crustacean, beverly hills’s vietnamese hotspot, without starting right there.

from its secret kitchen to its opulent colonial decor including the famous winding 80 foot long "walk on water" sunken floor aquarium at the entrance to its impeccable service, and of course the food, one can see why crustacean strongly withstands the test of time in this fickle city.

if the name sounds familiar, it's because the an family has a vietnamese fusion empire all around california (including a food truck and catering company ), with a ton of press and celebrity clients

crab dish. it used to be a great place for vietnamese crab. but now it changed , maybe a new owner , do not order crab out of shell. they sub crab meat with spyder crab insted of more expencive dungeneese, but charge the same. i will not eat there again.

fabulous !. we came in from texas, staying at a nearby hotel that recommended this restaurant to us . we were so happy with the cracked version of the dungeness crab and garlic noodles that we came back 2 days later for the exact same thing.
the first night there we were seated upstairs . the second time we were seated downstairs.
we plan to go back next time we are in la .
eating crab can be a mess obviously but they do give bibs and nice steamed hand towels .

modern asian delight. i heard of this place from "the best thing i ever ate" and also from kerri hilson's body guard, both recommended the garlic noodles so i made it a point to come here. the service was exceptional, catering to our every need, despite one of my friends not conforming to dress code. we ordered the buddha rolls, the garlic noodles, and i had the surf and turf roll. the buddha's were much more flavorful than most rice rolls i've ever had. the garlic noodles were delicious, as expected but how can you really go wrong with garlic? i didn't realize the surf and turf was a sushi roll when i ordered. i'm really not a fan of sushi but in this format it was delicately hearty.

best west coast food. flew in from new orleans, beverly hillls hilton staff recomended this as the "best" within walking distance. how to describe it? asian seafood with a heavy french influance? or maybe just the best dungoness crab i have ever had....not just fantastic food, but the wine list is spectacular, sat on the second floor and had one of the best dinning experiences ever...top 10 of all time...do yourself a favor and go....
