cru juice

came in on a saturday morning hoping to grab some breakfast. i felt that the $8 for the breakfast bowl was a bit overpriced for a small portion with acai smoothie. although it was good, i've had better ones where it was double the amount for the same price. also ordered one of my favourites model slash actor juice which does not have as strong of a citrusy kick as pumped up kicks.

calgary’s very own gem of raw juice has a new location in mount royal right along 17th avenue. it is a replica of the many other juice stores around north america. it is a place for juice to bring on the go, enjoy with a friend in store, and now even to grab a munch! as per usual, i am a lover of interior design and how well presented some shops or restaurants here. although the front part of the store is still in construction, they have a beautiful side seating area as well as along the counter. i have been to other raw juice stores on the west coast where they have a food menu and i have always fell in love with them because of how healthy and fresh they are. cru juice has finally brought that aspect into calgary where they have a nice menu of different food that you can order to enjoy in store or to go. i was excited to see that they have juice flights because that would be a first in calgary so they’re stepping the raw juice game up for sure.

brought some friends from out of town over the summer to cru on 17th between sightseeing & exploring calgary, and i knew they'd like cru as they're health nuts and love trendy interiors. i've had the chia bowls a few times, i wouldn't say they're filling enough to be a meal, but it's a nice snack. like others have mentioned, the juice prices can seem a bit steep, but in terms of cold-pressed juices on the market, it's pretty much on par. i'm a big fan of the charcoal lemonade, although i have tried 50 shades of green and a few other seasonal drinks they've had. i'd check this place out if you're a fan of cold-pressed juice or just want a healthy snack!

i loved the interior here and their juices were also good ... but that could also be because i played it safe and picked out juices that sounded good to me. there isn't much to really say. they also have food options which i want to return for. prices differ depending on the juice and i believe the cheapest is $4. i know i know, $4 for w2 (which is practically lemon honey water) is pretty steep. buuuut its good to treat yourself once in a while :p

hello lovelies! today i wanted to share the one day juice cleanse i did thanks to cru juice, a local cold-pressed juicery right here in calgary. those of you following along on snapchat will know that after all the holiday eats and treats i thought it was time to kick it into gear and start off a clean eating month with a juice cleanse. i absolutely love cru juice for this! their juices have the most fun names, and are so delicious. for the one day cleanse you get to pick 6 juices; 2 green, 1 fruit, 1 root, 1 nut, & 1 lemonade. the juices come with fun labels so you know exactly which order to drink them in :) now as for the experience itself, after the first 3 i did feel a bit shaky and low on energy. however, i have to say these juices kept me full after drinking each one. but the best of all is that my blood sugar started to stabilize itself, for the first time in forever! so for those of you looking for that restart and reboot to end the summer off strong, definitely check them out

mediocre taste, a bit bitter. the worst part was the price. it was $9.5, for 490ml.  jugo juice is half the price and much more satisfying. would not recommend.

obsessed with cru juice!! the staff is always so helpful and friendly whenever i need some help on deciding with which juice to try. i am happy they are expanding their brand and now serving more raw breakfast, lunch and snack options which taste delicious! a must try if you spot cru juice!

after reading my post last week, cru sent me a box of their finest nut & green blends and boy was i pumped about it.  if you read my first cru juice review, you would have realized that i really didn’t enjoy my experience with the nut blends. there was some sort of bitter aftertaste and i couldn’t get through it. however, the amazing cru customer service team quickly contacted me and explained that they had been having some issues with the heating in their new location. as it appears, nut mylks are quite delicate and they can quickly degrade if brought to room temperature or any type of heat. so, when we had that big heat wave in calgary, their shop just couldn’t stay cool enough and many of them went a bit sour.

hipster little place on 17th. personally i don't get cold pressed juices so maybe i don't see the appeal and think it's sooo amazing. i think it's a little expensive ($9-11 for a bottle?) but i guess it's a nice splurge every once in a while.

i really like the cute little space inside. and they let you try the juices before you purchase one, which is amazing.

came here on a friday afternoon. i have seen the stand they have at holt renfrew and was always intrigues to try it.  i usually juice at home and wanted to see what cru juice offered. i was leaning on trying the nutty flavours. my girlfriend and i both got the menage a trois.  it was really good and tasty. of course the price of $11 for a bottle is a little steep, when you can make this at home for alot cheaper. but i really enjoyed it. they also gave us a little sample of the chocolate avocado pecan tart to try and i must say it was delicious.
also wanted to mention they were super friendly :)

have you noticed that everyone seems to be on a cold pressed juice kick? between juices and cleanses, it seems like a new juice shop is popping up every week. so, with the opening of a cru juice just around the block from my condo, i figured i would give it a shot. fyi – if you’re feeling lazy, they also deliver.
