soul power. the best sausage creole and mustard greens i ever had. the guy with the do rag that works the window is a creeper and hits on me every time which turns me off from there.

best plate lunch in lafayette. this place is well worth a trip. take cash with you to pay. they serve great old fashioned plate lunches. i don't see a menu photo here, but their menu changes and it is written on a chalkboard. there are some common threads though. chicken fricasee and stuffed breads have always been on the menu, along with red beans and rice, sweet peas...but then there usually some sort of dish like fried pork chop, spaghetti or a similar meatball dish, stuffed chickens, or liver. i almost always get their delicious chicken fricasee and a cup of the sauce from it to dip a stuffed bread in. the stuffed bread is the best around. seriously to die for. a little flaky on the outside, and soft in the middle, chock full of meat. every time i have been, the plate lunches have been served with a small, sweet, cornbread muffin. great place. down to earth and relaxed. old fashioned. and many interesting characters sitting at tables around you. two thumbs up.

we stopped by on a friday at noon and it was closed. call first.

fantastic. i eat here whenever i get the chance. the stuffed bread is what they are famous for, and it is fantastic, but they serve home style plate lunches that are out of this world. the restaurant is very unassuming, it's just an old house converted to a restaurant. you will see customers dressed in everything from shorts to suits here. the food is always well seasoned, so if you have a tender palate, beware. creole lunch house is one of my favorites.

food is consistently good. the owner is always courteous, and personable.the entire staff is really nice, except for the one heavy weight lady, who always has a chip on her shoulders.

you have to try this place. we were passing thru lafayette and looked up restaurants on urban spoon. saw this one and decided to try it. the food is awesome and so is the service. we had the stuffed baked chicken. you would not believe how good it was. we will definitely eat here again.

creole lunch house is well-known for it's stuffed bread--and it certainly lives up to it's reputation. the service is great, too. they made me feel like a vip!

more than stuffed bread. creole lunch house is famous for their stuffed bread, but if you eat here, you have a choice of several different plate lunches every day. it's worth the trip. come expecting spicy creole food and you will not be dissapointed. good people.

food just as good as your grandma's home cookin'! and the stuffed breads are one of a kind.
