good pho!. [31 mar 10] had rich fish-stock pho with fishballs for $6. scallions were quite crunchy. tea came in tall glasses that weren't too hot to touch. very modern decor. nice place for a dull, rainy spring afternoon.

impressed. been wanting to try this since it opened, but never got the chance until today. went with a couple of friends, and we weren't disappointed.
at first, we were a little wary at the huge range of choices on the menu, but it turned out that the food maintained excellent quality despite this.

recommend:
- shrimp wonton in soup- whole shrimps inside a thin wrap. not overstuffed or too heavy and very much like the one in hong kong.
- beef brisket w/ turnip- very impressed with this one. the beef was not tough and chewy like it so often is, and portion was very reasonable.
- peking duck (half portion)- we had to try this when 1/3 of the people around us had ordered this. could see why this was- not dripping with fat and the buns were amazing.
- zha leung (rice flour noodle w/ flour crisp): authentic cantonese and very reasonable priced at $3.50.

dessert & drink
- ordered mango and grapefruit sago: fabulous. not too sweet and definitely worth trying. also, quite cheap compared to most other placed i've been to, where they charge $5.00+ for almost the same thing.
- friend had tapioca milk tea: a very decent amount of tapioca with milk tea that wasn't weak and watery but not overwhelming either. worth a try.
- i got ribena with lemon. haven't had ribena (blackcurrent juice drink) in a long time, so i'm quite nostalgic. :)

also ordered chow fun w/ beef, fish combo rice noodle and steamed rice w/ chicken broth. (high quality rice used that was cooked just right and served hot.)

couldn't eat anymore, but the fried rice with chicken and salted fish from the next table was very fragrant (couple finished the whole plate, so couldn't have been bad.) will go back to try next time.

overall, great cuisine at inexpensive price. one of the best for cantonese in bay area, and i cannot wait to return!

must try!. drove by today and decided to go in. tried peking duck (half portion), shrimp wontons, dried scallop & egg white fried rice and mango sago with bill.
duck was crispy and just right and the bun was hot and soft (mmm.)
shrimp wonton in soup was very authentic hong kongese. the wonton wrappers weren't thick and floury like most, plus there were 2 whole shrimps inside!
fried rice good- at least there wasn't a puddle of oil at the bottom like so many restaurants nowadays, and there was a good balance of rice and ingredients.
was stuffed by the end but ordered dessert anyways.
went for mango and grapefruit in mango sauce with sago so, so good- must try!

also, went for the 7-up with preserved lemon. finally, a restaurant that makes it right. yeah, i know it sounds weird, but it's good. tapioca milk tea looked good as well, but too much to eat for one go.

price was very reasonable (cash only, though), as were the portions. will definitely go back again!
