i had been looking forward to going here, and was not disappointed. chinese-american, gwai lo, hole-in-the-wall, cheap, filling, mom and pop, all the above. as i always do, i get the almond fried chicken, and this is the closest yet to that childhood memory i've longed to relive. they have several other combos, in the range of 6-8 dollars. the amount of food, you won't leave hungry. for 2 combos, it was $15. the host was super nice, and was quick witted, she had us dying. everyone there during lunch were regulars, and the banter would remind you of a barbershop. host talking to customers, customers talking to each other, we're all discussing what's on the tv in the corner. don’t let looks fool you. this unassuming building is pure gold, and it will definitely be our lunch staple.
