get an amazing experience with great food and of course alcohol and cocktail at code speak easy bar. their live events, ambience, cocktail, quality of food dessert and safety protocols everything is on point.

this place is above npb on paud road.
starting with the ambiance here, the place was a bit dark yet cozy! they have cool paintings on the wall! they also have a projector screen for screenings.

drinks:
we ordered lit and flirtini!
flirtini was very tangy for me at first sip! as the drink aged, it got sweetened and i kinda liked it. it was basically pineapple juice with tonic water and piece of sweet lime.

food:
in starters we ordered kolhapuri chicken tikka and aloo mutter ki cheese tikki.
kolhapuri chicken was delicious! the chicken was perfectly cooked along and was nicely mixed with the flavours.
aloo mutter ki tikki was just like one my mom makes at home. very delicious. i wish they could have served it even without cheese. but overall, i really loved both the starters.

later on for main course i ordered dal makhani and murg lababdar. trust me, murg lababdar had such a savory gravy! and tenderly cooked chicken pieces. like wow! one of the best i had in recent times!
dal makhani was also good if you are looking for something less spicy. it was very consistent and tasty!
i never expected such good indian main course food from a bar! but it turned out amazing!

the service was also quick and the staff was polite.
they have clean washrooms too!

this is a really fun place to hang out. they have an amazing and
wide-ranging menu of food and drinks. besides that, the ambiance is really comfortable & classy. live screenings, live band performances, and music are the best. for food, we suggest having a main course also along with bar bites.
this is a must-visit place if you are in or around #kothrud!!!

the music being played (live band or otherwise) is too loud and totally negates the term ‘speak easy’ because you can’t speak to your friends at all!

that pun aside, the food and service is good! food isn’t anything extraordinary, you get such food at any good outlet!

the waiter who served us was very friendly and prompt! he was constantly on the lookout if we needed anything and always smiling! so the service was the best part about our visit!

overall a good experience, but i would only go there if all my friends don’t feel like talking at all and just want to have their liquor and food with loud background noise/music!

code the speakeasy bar is located st kothrud, just above new poona bakery having ample amount of space for two and four wheeler parking.

the name “code speakeasy bar” has interesting history behind it.

during world war 2 alcohol was banned for good 6 years in usa. it was hard to get any liquor.

so restaurant owners used sell liquor secretly (illegally) and set a 4 digit passcode to enter the backdoor bar inside restaurant.

so here they mimic the situation of entering code to enter bar. they post 4 digit code daily on their insta page and you need to use that to enter. they have kept pin pad at the entrance.

of course they have legal liquor license 😊😊😊😊

they serve cocktails, mocktails, tap beers and craft beers.

they have huge spread of starters and main course too.

i tried below :

1. a-la-carte liit : they serve the premixed spirits in flask and coke. you can mix it then

check attched reels video.

2. red wine sangria : tasty as usual

3. kolhapuri thecha nachos : nachos served with spicy thecha, salsa and beans

4. momos : my all time favourite 🤩

5. kfc : kerla fried chicken. boneless chicken chunks deep fried in thick coating. served along with spicy curry leaves chutney

6. kolkata style chicken chilli : similar to chicken chilli but spicier than it. loved the sauce

guys, this place is going to rock.

their in-house dj and taste of music is just awesome.

they know exactly what to serve with what and menu is designed carefully.

rates are very low and portions are huge.

plus it’s kids and pet friendly.

visited a few days ago and guess what this place serves some of the most amazing things like mac and cheese fries and many more things. what took my attention here was the diy liit which you are made by uaself and it was the highlight of what i had. if you ever plan on visiting this place i suggest you try these this and yes do try the fried rice here. overall an amazing place to spend a good time.
