always a great meal. every time we vacation on sanibel, we always eat at cips. the food is consistently good, as is the service. the enchilada stack is our favorite dinner.

great patio tables if it's not too hot. the rosemary chicken breast w/ pearl couscous was moist and flavorful, and the mussels linguini was heavy on the mussels and light on the linguini. service friendly and just about the right speed. recommended spot for dinner.

staff was great! food not so much! 2nd time we've been in a year - last time we will ever.

cip's place (pronounced “sip”) is located in the forever green shopping center on sanibel island. my wife and i were staying at the sanibel beach resort for the weekend and were driving around looking for a place for dinner when we came across cip’s. the restaurant is named for long-time islander jimmy cipriani, the former owner of the property, and the bar is modeled after one of sanibel’s original ferries, the islander. the restaurant is a casual, comfortable place to relax, in a higher class atmosphere while still reminding you of the island life. the restaurant has many scrapbooks of the island's history that customers are welcome to look through while you sip on a cocktail or wait for food. a mural painted by two local artists called the sanibel and captiva’s wall of island faces depicts many of sanibel and captiva's most well-known and instrumental people in molding the islands into what they are today. the portrait includes island locals like porter goss, j.n. “ding” darling, the bailey brothers, and the late jimmy cipriani.

great food great staff. had the bbq shrimp to start. my entree was the buttermilk chicken, sautéed spinach with scalloped potato's. very nice place with kind and courteous staff.

nice place to eat at on the island. lots of great outdoor seating that's dog friendly. friendly staff serves good food especially grouper sandwiches and walnut pie.

tried. 2014 we tried to make reservations to cip's. i had to be placed on hold for well over 2 minutes just to make a reservation. then there was a debate on being inside or out. we wanted in, but no guarantee. not a good 1st impression. we'll be back to sanibel in less than 2 weeks well see if we give this another shot.

rushed out the door. we made reservations to meet up with some good friends for a weeknight, and were looking forward to catching up with them. when we finished our entrees, we were never offered dessert or after dinner drinks & the check was dropped. as we visited & finished our drinks, a lady (manager?) came up and said "are you done? if so, could you leave so we can seat another reservation." we all looked at her then at each other dumbfounded that she asked. we had been seated for an hour and a half. we were all shocked that they would treat guests in such a disrespectful manner. we were very disappointed with our experience.

good food and service, plus, doggy friendly!

first time on sanibel and tried this place based on the reviews. we were not disappointed. red snapper tacos were great, even the non seafood eaters in our group were pleased with the pasta bolognase.

great place. stopped by on our first day on the island. everyone ordered something different and everyone was happy. i asked for a favor for my 3 yr old's meal to come with the appetizers and they made it happen. saved the day!

nice cubano and salad.... service was friendly and attentive. restaurant has a nice ambiance and the food is fresh. skip the chips.

cip's is aok. well done. we ate here in late october/early november and it was all very good! wait staff was extremely efficient and knowledgeable....very professional employees.

great setting, indoor/outdoor dining provides for great experiences later in the year on one of the most beautiful islands i know of...

the appetizer, which if i recall was actually called poke (hawaiian) was delicious. a slightly more tropical twist than poke served hawaiian style (ono grindz would not be heard in this dining area), which i did not care for particularly, but was fresh and certain to please most diners that would order it...

a little pricey in hindsight, but for extremely fresh fish (grouper and mahi) and rice that was to die for, a great wait staff and an overall great experience.........what am i complaining about price for??? ill go back again and again, just once or twice a year, not every few weeks:)
