update the reviews. when are you going to put more recent comments, like in 2012? i am sure you will find disgruntled customers

diet food. dont go to cinco unless you are dieting because you will starve. the portions of the main meals are tiny. even the bed of barley/other food that meat is placed is so skimpy. the prices are way too high for what you get. the staff were very rude. did not even crack a smile.

so so.... all the hype and it was ok.
nothing special as restaurants go, but still enjoyed my meal.

we tried to go here last night! i phoned to book a table and to ask if we could order off the pizza menu in the bistro as we had a child with us. we were informed that they don't allow it if they are busy. we arrived at 6.15pm. there were only 2 other occupied tables in the bistro. we explained the situation again but were told we had to sit outside in the piccolo (pizza) dining area. we sat there but after a couple of minutes of not being able to hear ourselves because of the traffic whizzing past we left, very dissatisfied. they knew why we were leaving and chose not to rectify the situation so we will not return. how inflexible!

went here on saturday night for an impromptu date with the hubby. it was amazing! service was attentive, food was beautiful and it was fairly reasonable for three courses and drinks. will definitely be back, thanks fire a great night cinco!

don't believe all the other positive reviews. with mains being on average 35 a dish, this place is average and overated. the duck was dried and has no taste. the gnochi is too big and floury. the best dish was the side of mushroom.

overpriced and underwhelming. my boyfriend and i went to cinco for the first time last weekend with a group for a friend's birthday, and sad to say, we both felt that the food was really average for the price and the hype (and all the good reviews!). we both had a mushroom risotto for mains and it tasted like something you would get from a toscani's for 15 bucks.. it wasn't bad food, it just wasn't worth the price tag at all. i also had a souffle for entree, which i found average at best, but then i've never really enjoyed souffle when i've had it so maybe it's me... dessert was enjoyable, we shared a lemon curd tart with raspberries - can't really go wrong with a lemon tart, it was really quite nice. one other downside - the restaurant is byo but corkage is $8.50 a head! which we didn't find out til after we'd opened ours and read the note on the menu; $8.50 is excessive, and they didn't have an ice bucket to spare... overall it was a pleasant night, the service was absolutely fine but the food left a lot to be desired. i was surprised to find this is one of only two negative reviews! my boyfriend and i are aren't snobby 'foodies', but i've eaten far better food for less all around brisbane. perhaps we fluked a bad night in the kitchen?..

absolutely sensational . party of 6 all plates empty for entree and main. highlights everything we ordered , battered scallop and snaper salad , smoked ocean trout, chicken four gras and soup of day "mushroom"
mains barramundi, pork belly and aged fillet of beef . dessert looked wonderful but not needed . will definitely be back , thank you . service average as no water refills throughout night!

fallen in love with food again. coconut battered snapper & scallop salad, peanut and chilli caramel was the best ever salad i have had in my life. had a great time with a friend - we both had ever been before. wait staff was great !

delicious. who said you couldn't find a great, fancy restaurant in the suburbs? i would recommend this restaurant to anyone. the service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff and the place has a great feel to it with split level dining and a view straight into the kitchen.

the food was top quality and if you're visiting cinco i would definitely recommend the barramundi for main!

where ever you live in brisbane drive to the south/east side to visit this chaming bistro - you won't regret it!. this little bistro is a little out of the way depending where you live of course... but it is well worth the trip... the food is fabulous! service is warm and friendly and the menu is excellent. no wonder this little gem is still going strong after all these years! keep up the good work cinco! love it!

*cinco bistro is byo* and also a suburban gem. we are always so impressed by their decor/ambience, and of course the delicious food made by the fantastic chef here. dessert is sublime (a must!) and while the wait staff are always quite busy, we have been happy with our service and wait times. would definitely return to cinco - next time with a byo bottle of bubbles as their sparkling wine selection is basically non-existent. you will be hard pressed finding anywhere online that spruikes this place is byo, but it definitely is :)

lovely food, waiter very understanding and they were very accommodating. would recommend to anyone.

great food, great service. been very happy with the food whenever we've dined there.

decor, menu and service unchanged since our last visit. food is delicious, portions inconsistent- some meals quite generous, others small. still think it is overpriced based on offering and location.

refurb has made the place more welcoming and balanced. menu is varied enough to please every palate. food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. somewhat expensive for a bistro on a busy main road but overall a very pleasant experience! would recommend.

ahhh maaz ing!!! can't believe this restaurant is in brisbane. what a gem. incredible food. friendly staff. 100% professional. a i can say is wow!
