chipotle mexican grill

boy-o-boy i really love this place and would really kill for it man. i wanted to come here ever since i landed and the flavours they serve here are pretty exciting and great for me to try.

fyi: z is gluten-free (which mean as she can't eat wheat, rye, or barley) so our reviews are all from the gluten-free perspective. we care about how many gluten-free options the restaurant has and how helpful the staff is in dealing with our concerns.

gluten-free options: everything at chipotle is gluten-free except for the flour tortillas! (just be careful about cross-contamination if you are really sensitive).

it was really fun to see the employees spring into action when z told them she was gf. one went and got a manager to verify that everything except the flour tortillas was gf. next they changed the serving spoons for the beans (but if the beans themselves were already cross-contaminated then that doesn't really accomplish much), and grabbed the crunchy corn taco shells. chipotle has lots of natural, antibiotic-free, growth hormone-free meat to serve, and their guacamole is really good.

when we went into chipotle and told them i was gluten-free and asked what i could order, at first they had no idea what i was talking about. so i clarified and asked if any of their spices or sauces contained wheat or flour. it took them a while to find the right paperwork, but eventually they brought out an allergens list which showed that the only item at chipotle that contained wheat were the flour tortillas! that's the way food should be! don't go sticking wheat in where it isn't necessary! so, since they carried both crunchy and soft corn tortillas, there were actually quite a lot of options for me. they even changed their gloves to minimize any potential cross-contamination. i had some really delicious tacos and will probably go to chipotle again for a quick meal!

do not visit the chipotle at tysons corner. we are regular customers at chipotle, particularly the one in vienna (up to 3 times per week). last saturday on our way to the movies, we stopped at the one in tysons corner. big mistake! we should have turned back out as soon as we walked in! the place was filthy with food over chairs and tables, floor was dirty, cooking area did not seem clean, garbage cans were overflowing, etc.many of the topings ran out depite the early time of our visit; portion were small (manager kept telling servers to watch the portion size right in front of us!).

this facility should be closed by either corporate or the health department! even my husband who is typically passive was appalled! do yourself a favor, visit another chipotle and enjoy their food in a cleaner and friendlier environment!

the "manager" on duty would not help when they made the order wrong.. asked to go to end of line due to miscommunication

horrible service!!!!. all of the ingredients were good, but the service was horrible. the literally put about what equals a large bite of rice and tomatoes on my burrito. when i asked for more i was glared at. they also were trying to put stuff on my burrito i didn't ask for, and there was not a line!

my burrito was dry (literally no salsa or sour-cream b/c the guy kept on glaring at me)...since when does that every happen?

this is the 3rd time i have had bad service here, and i am going to stop trying to give this chipotle a chance and eat at one of the other great options in the mall

chipotle has the best burritos in town. you can try that bird place and be disappointed. chipotle has a unique flavor due to the organic meats and fresh ingredients. the hot sauces also are very flavorful and are a must try even if it's on the side.

mcchipolte.... it's a poor attempt at a freebirds knock-off. it's ok food, but nothing i'd go out of my way for. those that have never had the original will probably like it, those that have had a bird, probably won't.
