crispy chicken served with a light and tangy sauce. meat is tender and juicy. expect to wait up to 25-30 minutes for the chicken, though. service is efficient and the servers generally tend to be efficient and courteous. plenty of seating inside and full bar available. plenty of storefront parking.

amazing chicken wings. formerly bon chon chicken. fantastic wings ... if you've never had korean fried chicken you must try this. it is amazingly crispy and delicious! make sure you call ahead whether you're take out or dine in, it takes a while to make!

i really liked the sauce on the chicken, but honestly i could take or leave the chicken, definitely not worth the wait. the outside was extremely crispy and then the chicken was not as moist/flavorful that it could have been.

i don't understand how they make fried chicken taste so good! it's only chicken! but it's not only chicken...there are unknown forces at work here. the chicken is full of crispy, crunchy, juicy goodness. we called in our order, got it in a timely manner and then sat in va traffic for god knows how long. when we finally got home the chicken was still crunchy! i honestly cannot wrap my mind around it. it really is delicious! i never wanna eat fried chicken from anywhere else.

bon chon is a south korea based fried chicken franchise which first opened a u.s location in nyc and has started to gain more and more fans across the states. here in northern virginia there are several locations popping up. we visited the centreville, va bon chon earlier this year and got hooked, enjoying it ever since.

the chicken itself was a whole new experience. the outer skin and coating where crispier yet thinner than i have ever seen on a piece of fried chicken. the meat on the inside was still tender and juicy with no signs of dryness whatsoever. i really enjoyed the garlic-soy sauce on the chicken which had some sweet overtones. the chicken with the hot sauce was srichacha based and it was jam-packed with korea's version of hot sauce. i generally shy away from really spicy food but i could not stop eating all the chicken albeit the pickled radish became my saving grace when the spiciness built up too much. before i knew it, all 11 pieces of chicken had evaporated along with two servings of iced tea.

order ahead. call them before you go and put in your order. when you get there, you're name will be on a table and they'll bring the chicken as soon as you get there. at first, you'll probably be amazed at the quantity and think to yourself, "no way." but once you try it, that will all change and you'll just keep stuffing it in your belly like takeru kobayashi.

great chicken and alright atmosphere but never ever call in for pickup. it's not that it takes an hour and a half to make, it's that when you arrive at the time they tell you, you have to wait 30 more minutes. in addition to slow service, the workers ignore you when you want to speak to them. never eat here on the weekend either...

service is horrible. waited more than an hour for chicken. people who didn't have reservations like us still got their hickey before us. the chicken is good, but this is just ridiculous to wait or chicken this long. i recommend going to the centerville location because the annandale location is just way tooooo slow!!!!!!!

omg! life changing. my first visit to washington, and my good friend asks me "have you ever had korean fried chicken?" uhhhh...what is that????!!!! was my response. i love korean food and i love fried chicken...and to find out there's a combination of the two. i think i died and gone to heaven. there's other things on the restaurant menu, but the chicken is the star. get spicy and non spicy. it takes up to 40 minutes to make, so be sure to order ahead with your reservation in order to have a short wait. service is kind of lacking there...almost infuriating, but the chicken is worth it! even though service is known to suck...the chicken is that good that you'd overlook it.

good, not as great as reviewed. first experience last night. unlike other reviews, we had perfectly good, friendly service, yes, a long wait for the chicken -- but it came out quicker than predicted. we far prepared the wings with garlic/soy sauce to the wings with spicy sauce. tasty, and crispy, but not wowed. found the atmosphere a little down-and-out; would suggest doing takeout. worth trying; but not a health-food dinner. hard to find anything "green" on their menu.

success spoils the bird. while the chicken remains good, although not as good as when we first tried it after the annandale location opened, success has not be kind to the customer. service is really bad. bad in how customer's are treated and bad in getting the order right. we had to hunt down someone to pick-up our order and then once we got home to eat it, it wasn't what we ordered. not likely to change though since they remain popular nonetheless. maybe the new location in fairfax will be better... at least for a while.

amazing wings. these are by far the best wings i have ever had. they are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. the flavor if the soy garlic is delicious and it does not overpower the flavor of the chicken. the same can be said about the spicy wings. if you don't like heat in your food, then stick to the soy garlic. another great thing about these wings is that they are not drowining in a sloppy sauce. you get all the flavor of the sauce, but yet it does not drip all over the place--it sticks right to the chicken. i have had chicken wings my whole life as i grew up in buffalo, these are very different because the are korean, after all-not your typical "buffalo style" wings. (which i also love) but, these are actually way better. the texture of the skin is like nothing else. you have to try it to understand how amazing these wings are. definitely call ahead. we did not find the service to be so bad. the waiter was actually sort of pleasant and not rude at all. if you have a big appetite, you might want to get two orders and just take any extras home. otherwise if you are left wanting more, you will be out of luck since it takes a minimum of 30 minutes for them to make the wings.
we drove 45 minutes for these wings and we are already planning our next visit!
