i should agree with the expert reviewers that this place is indeed an irresistable stop. especially if your a sweettooth person, as someone who loves pastry i personally would vouch for this store as it is simply delicious. quick service and affordable indulgence. i had purchased a 2kg chocolate cake for my friend's b'day, she was blown away by the taste owing to its richness. have a try yourself to witness it.

the only thing i've ever bought from this bakery is their prune hamentashins. i really enjoy the taste and texture of the dough part of the cookie as well as the filling. it's hard to resist stopping inside when i pass by the bakery.

a montreal favorite. unique east european pastry shop with long lineups. quick service with a smile. everything is simply delicious. it's impossible to take your pastries home as you'll want to devour them as soon as you walk out the door.

real pastries made by real people using real ingredients. their "russian style babka" is so chocolaty and addictive it should be illegal!

i swing by whenever i'm back in montreal.

thank you jesus for this delight from paradise. it’s soooooooooo so good. and super cheap, too! i could eat way more of this but then, i’d probably have a sugar rush, which is not a good thing when you’re a parent.

i recommend going early and getting the babka while still warm out of the oven. squares of the chocolate-filled pastry layers sit on metal trays behind the counter. gooey, sticky, and messy are appropriate descriptors. if you’re stuck, in lieu of lesser babka, you might want to try the chocolate rugelach instead.

we walked a block away to also grab a few snacks from cheskie boulangerie. the chocolate babka is what they are known for but we couldn't walk away without trying these beautiful ice cream cone shaped pastries.
