a gem!. great food, lovely atmosphere and terrific service, all in the delightful historic kissimmee neighborhood. the fish is very fresh and creatively prepared. one of our very best dining experiences!

wonderful. we visited chef john's place while on vacation. we were looking for a location that had seafood. chef john's did not disappoint. i had the jumbo grilled shrimp. it was glazed with a sweet sauce that was incredible. my husband had the gumbo and raved about it for days. the portion size is huge and we all left feeling satisfied and full.
it is worth the drive. so good!!

if you like bjs frozen packaged foods this is the place to eat. the mahi was straight from a frozen package as were the vegetables and i really don't know what to say about the sticky ball of rice. we saw our waitress twice once when she took our order and once when she deliverd the bill

and said the didn't have a table to seat us. we asked what about the outside seating and they said ok. then we sat for 10 min and nobody came out to serve us. tasteless tasteless wasted a 50 min drive. its not worth the bull s-----t you have to go through. macaroni grill was mich better.

delicious!!. i have to admit we were a little skeptical going into chef johns place but the food was so worth it!! we drove 30min and it was worth every mile! we had ahi tuna, shrimp scampi, fish & seafood, crepes, and multiple sides....everything was absolutely delicious! we definitely joined the clean plate club on this dinner! recommend it to everyone.

chefs johns is amazing!! we drove 35 minutes to get to this restaurant and are so glad we did! if this wasn't the last day of our vacation we would be going back tomorrow (any every day while we are here) chef john makes the best gumbo and fish!!!!!

far from good. we saw the previous reviews and decided we would give it a try. it was mediocre at best. it took over 45 minutes for us to get our food. we ordered the pull pork and ribs so you would expect that they were smoked before hand so what took so long???
the meat was okay, nothing specular but the sides were terrible. we ordered fried okra, creole rice, green beans and sweet potato fries. the sides came in disposable plastic cups. they just looked terrible. then the fries were over cooked. the rice had little flavor when we expected something spicy. the okra was okay but the sauce/dip was not very good. and the green beans was more a cut up mixture of vegetables. oh, we had corn bread and it was dry. we can get better corn bread and rice at popeyes.

our total meal was $50.

overall we would never go back. just not worth our time nor the money.

good choice. my friend and i were looking for something with seafood that wasn't a chain. using urbanspoon for recommendations, this place looked like it had lots to recommend, and i'm glad we went. it was 18 miles away from our hotel, a bit more of a drive than i was expecting, and finding it at the end of a strip center, we didn't know what to expect.

we walked in, there were a few people in there. we finally chose a seat to watch the buckeyes play basketball, and ordered some beer. we ordered fried clam strips as an appetizer, which were nice, hot and juicy, with three different sauces, tartar, cocktail and horseradish. i didn't realize that it was horseradish until halfway through, but it was excellent, and that's all i had with my clams after that. i didn't try the tartar sauce.

my friend ordered the blackened grouper over linguine. i had the seafood crepes.

my dish had nice pieces of scallop and shrimp, in a nice sauce with mushrooms. i certainly would order it again.

my friend said that his dish was great.

we enjoyed the food, the buckeyes won, and it was a great evening.

we love it 12 visits and working our way around menu haven't found anything we didn't love ! service is impeccable !

don't be fooled by the exterior. tried this restaurant during vacation due to all of the good reviews on this site. when our party of 5 pulled up, everyone else was a little disappointed by the exterior, which is very unassuming. however, once we sat down and started eating, everyone was glad we didn't pass it up. the 12 oz. rib eye steaks were delicious, the chicken alfredo was "the best ever," and both the apple and key lime pies were wonderful. we made sure to pass on our appreciation to the chef!

great food! really good service. a bit out of the way but worth the drive. i had the rib eye and my partner had the grouper. fresh! amazing and yummy!

wonderful. i can't say enough stupendous remarks to describe how wonder chef john's is. if i ever owned a restaurant i would run it the way chef john does. although the restaurant is in a chain mini-mall, you would never know once you step inside. you can be as casual as flip flops or wear a suit and feel just as comfortable inside.

i ordered the blackened grouper linguini and my boyfriend had the beef brisket and pulled pork served with collard greens and mashed potatoes.

this was one of the best meals i've ever had and you can't beat the prices. you could tell the fish was fresh; it didn't have that watery after taste of frozen fish. it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was light and flavorful. i found it interesting that green beans were used in the pasta. this was a great addition to your usual pasta vegetables that i never thought about using, and paired well with the fish.

my boyfriend's pulled pork was amazing. there is no bbq sauce because it is slow cooked in its own essence and didn't need any additions. the beef brisket was also good but it didn't compare to the pulled pork.

we ordered the key lime pie for dessert. it was different from any key lime pie i have ever had. it had a gelatinous texture and was sweet but not too sweet. the whipped topping also tasted homemade.

service was excellent. the servers were quick, but not so quick that you feel they are rushing you. when i go out to eat, i want things to be relaxing, and that is the atmosphere you will find here. chef john also came out to greet the customers and ask how our meals were. this was a nice touch, especially considering that it appears to be either just him or mainly him cooking all of the excellent meals. you can tell he takes pride in his work, and you can taste the love in his cooking.

i think i talked about this place to my friends more than anything else on our vacation.

great neighborhood place. came here based upon urbanspoon recommendations march 2013. excellent grouper - both blackened and parmesan crusted between swmbo and myself. good waitstaff. highly recommended.

delicious, quaint and quiet chef-owned gem! everyone in our party had cajun-inspired and/or fresh seafoord dishes - portion sizes were perfect - staff was helpful and pleasant - everything was great!
