avj, westerville, oh. our family has vacationed in the fort myers/sanibel area, in december, for over 40 years. we always eat at charley's several times during our two-week stay. the original charley's was great and now charley's boathouse is as great or better. baby back ribs, prime rib and steak have been our favorites, along with their super salad bar. unbeatable!

scallop, shrimp, crab baked in butter with salad bar and sweet potato/ petite filet , baked potato and salad bar - water to drink w/o tip total &59. service was good, steak prepared as ordered, seafood ,salad bar, bread and potatos good. would recommend and we will return again.

on vacation and charleys was one of only restuarants that offered lobster. we order the seafood trio, which was phenomal and the surf and turf (the filet was cooked at medum and was dry) was good. salad bar includes 55 items.

i don’t know where to start? the service was terrible. our waiter kept forgetting us. we would ask for something and he’d forget to bring it. my husbands beer, more dressing, which he brought after he brought our bill, i asked for a lime in my drink, and when it came, it was a lemon, so i asked again for a lime, and never got it.
the prime rib was tough and overcooked. my baked potato was old. my husband was somewhat pleased with his steak. his beer was flat.
too top it all off, a spider was crawling on my leg and bit me!
the salad bar is not open, but the salad was the only good thing about the restaurant.

this place always looked crowded, so went in a sunday night which was perfect. it’s bigger than it looks inside. all four of us loved our meals. i had 4 large scallops, hubby had flat iron steak. meal included salad and a starch plus a veggie, so you get a lot for the price. the green salad was served in a cold bowl to our table and we got chilled plates to eat it on. servers were attentive but not overbearing. we would go back!

the atmosphere was warm and inviting the food is completely overpriced!!! claiming to be a steakhouse my steak wasn’t cooked properly and the sides were mediocre would definitely not go back here

charley's has great steaks and very good salad bar. i've never had anything but steaks here so can't comment on any other food. i've always received great service and no problems.

this is the most consistently good dinner on fmb. the salad bar is soooo fresh and all natural with real bacon crumbles hard boiled eggs fruit etc.nothing deep fried here. best prime rib i have ever had. they have a nice chowder as well and the petite sirloin melts in your mouth. try the fish bites as an appetizer. good coffee and a full bar.

fish from china. i have never written a review before but i have to this time.. i was ordering stuffed flounder & just happened to ask our waiter where it was from (thinking gulf or east coast). he didn't know so went and asked. he came back & said it was from. china!!! no way would i order that fish. please check to see where your fish is from. i buy american & can not tolerate buying out of usa. we need to show them that we don't want fish shipped here from china.

get there before 6p to enjoy early birds and avoid heavy crowds. higher prices than what you'd expect for the quality of food. good service, if they're not too busy. great salad bar which is the main feature. the overall dining experience is more 'fine dining' versus beachy bar scene. toni was a great server.

just ok. this place is overpriced for the food you get. the salad bar was awesome and had a big selection, the service was fine. the food, however, was just ok, nothing special. i expected to get a lot more considering the high price.

best meal we've had during our time here. we enjoyed everything about it. i especially liked the lobster bisque i had in place of the salad bar. my boyfriend ordered the baseball sirloin and said it should be renamed the softball sirloin due to the size. it was amazing. there was a short wait, but they have a nice waiting area with a server taking drink orders. an overall great experience.

awesome!. have eaten here several times over the past three or four years and have always had a fantastic meal and especially enjoy the spectacular salad bar. our last visit a couple days ago was typical! great drinks, great meals, and awesome saladbar along with a fantastic server, toni, who made the visit and meal all that much more enjoyable. we will go back again and again!

we stayed across the street in ft. myers and were given complimentary dinner and drinks due to a mix up. food was awesome, my steak perfectly prepared. the clam chowder was full of clams, salad bar is impressive and the desserts were excellent. also, our waiter was sharp, funny and gave good food recs. definitely would go back
