we made our way to the joule hotel in downtown dallas and into the cbd provisions restaurant for a true smorgasbord of culinary delights.

we had two breakfasts, a lunch, and late-night drinks at the bar over three days while staying at the joule. the breakfasts were excellent with scrambled eggs and a terrific yogurt, granola, and berry parfait. good burger and a cubano for lunch. service was great and our servers derrick and raoul and other staff were extremely helpful and fun to talk to. bar service was also great, nice ambiance and good cocktails.

good for a business lunch if you need a quiet place. we went around noon and they only had 5-6 tables that were occupied , very nice ambience, service & food were both good. we only had a soup & salad, so not much culinary skills required from the chef ... but nevertheless a good experience.

a few missteps prevent this restaurant from being put on my list of places to stop by.

gorgeous ambiance and decor inside.

ordered the shrimp and crab cocktail. it's not really a cocktail, more like chips and salsa. the shrimp and crab are part of the tomato dip for your corn chips. while i liked it, the shrimp and crab were over powered and masked in the flavor. ultimately, if i had known it was more like a dip than an actual shrimp cocktail i would not have ordered it.

roasted tomato wedge was pretty good, but i was disappointed with there only being two tomatoes and three or four small pieces of pork belly.

i ordered two cocktails, one a bourbon based cocktail i ask for if they have the ingredients, and the second a last word after asking and getting confirmation that they knew how to make one. the bourbon one was made well, but i was asked if i want it served up or on ice. "on ice". i received it 30 seconds later up and in a coupe. it was also not carefully strained as there were small ice chips in the cocktail which, if it had not been bourbon based, would have been slightly aggravating.

as the bar tender was making my last word i noticed my bartender pull down a bottle of cointreau and another dark liquid. i stopped the bartender and reminded them of the ingredients of a last word. dodged a bullet there!

i'll try again and order a main next time.

we went to cbd provisions for a date/dinner on a recent trip to dallas. we were very pleased with our experience. the food was really tasty and i would really like to commend our waitress, joy, for her awesome recommendations and great service. while the food was really good, i will say that joy made our experience amazing! she was dealing with a really loud and ruse table next to us, but she handled them perfectly and was still able to give us, and her other diners, the attention necessary for a nice restaurant like cbd provisions. i would definitely go back and request we be put in joy's section!

we came for breakfast before heading out to the baseball game. i ordered the buttermilk-rye pancakes served with house made jam and bourbon barrel maple syrup. the portion was large, but unfortunately, my pancakes were burnt which left a very bitter taste in my mouth. the crispy edges were nice, but i also found the mix to be a bit over salted. overall, it was hard for me to finish these pancakes, so keith ended up eating half.

love this space. i stayed at the joule and was happy to see they had an allergen menu. top pick for lunch or dinner is the bunless grass fed beef burger and fries. love the ambiance, lighting and decor. a great place for a date or meeting and good menu selection.

this review is for the cbd happy hour, which is quite a good value given the space. it's not cheap but you pay for the ambiance and service - both were impeccable. also on point was the $10 burger - wow! it was truly perfect. i still crave it and cbd has made it onto the "i don't want to go home and cook" after work list. i enjoyed a classic moscow mule and a gun cocktail with st. germain and lemon.

sunday dinner is wonderful with half price wines and a special 3 course dinner at just $37.50. pork belly is the way to go for an appetizer. melt in your mouth. great wine list.

i love the food here! nice atmosphere. friendly service. decent parking. there might be some walking, unless you are staying at the joule hotel. i only tried a few light plates, such as pimiento cheese on a delicious bread with arugula. it was delicious. i noticed their menu changes. i've only been twice for dinner. i'll definitely return.

i had the rigatoni, which was very tasty and well-composed but a tad rich for my taste, and for dessert i had the delicious banana trifle. the trifle's various components harmonized well but could have used more peanut butter crumble.
