above my expectations!. just dined with a girlfriend at cascabel. i was so impressed. the food was so good! unique and different, but delicious. i cleaned my plate! service was excellent and so affordable! i will be back... soon!!!

superb food. expect a wait after ordering because good food takes a while. well worth the wait. unique and seemingly authentic taste. thank god texmex.

cochinita pibil - robert rodriguez would love it!. what a great meal - the complimentary fideo was totally delicious, small bits of cilantro & some black beans floating in the delicious broth. then the pibil plate - tangy and sweet and spicy y muy rojo. excellent rice with a nutty flavor, nopalitos salad with bits of crisp onion and tomato, black beans refried, and two tasty corn tortillas ~ it's all good! patricia vonne get your brother down here!!!

words fail. this is a lovely little place - can tell it's different right away, with the bright but simple table cloths & cloth napkins - not fancy, just nice. people working there are just the same.

and the food is wonderful. eating it, one can feel a connection to the earthy history of this part of the world. i had had nopales - cactus - before, but not prepared as such a tart and tangy accompaniment to meats with dark sauces. it all goes so well together into one of the hand-made corn tortillas.

portions are not huge, but reasonable. price is quite reasonable - really cheap considering the quality of ingredients and care and skill that have gone into preparation. we'll definitely be back for more.

i love this restaurant. it's been said, and it will be said again, this is not tex-mex.

there will be dishes you've never heard of, with names you would swear are made up! try a dish, though, everything here is very tasty. the owners really made sure the food they serve isn't the standard, greasy fare you'd expect of a mexican restaurant. also, the little sopa they bring before your meal is great!

a notable dish: the pozole. it's made with lean pork and is refreshingly complex in flavor (very hearty, earthy broth).

not tex-mex. this is real mexican food and it is really good. the patio is awesome on a very nice day, sit back relax and enjoy some delicious food. recommended.

incredible!. we love dining at cascabels. the food is consistently tasty. this is not tex-mex. the flavors are well thought out and complex without being overpowering. the service is quite friendly without being intrusive. the only downside is somewhat inconsistent hours. well worth trying!
