i attended a beautiful wedding at casa labia the other day. the upmarket and glamorous setting set a fantastic atmosphere for dining. the view of the ocean was amazing and plenty of parking opposite the street. excellent service. staff are both friendly and pay attention to their customers. i was looking forward to the deboned beef rib but, even though the food was very well presented, it was rather tasteless and disappointing. same with the desert. as fancy as it may look and as a big a variety as they might have, it all tasted rather bland with no significant distinct flavors between the different deserts. the coffee was good, though.

dinner at casa labia on 1st january 2021:
if you’re hoping for mouthwatering dishes emanating from this kitchen, if your expectations are even just average, if you’re wanting a tasty and creative meal... then don’t go for dinner to casa labia!
a menu of unimaginative, uncreative, extremely limited choices that too, proved to be inadequate in flavour, tagliate sirloin as tough and bland and overcooked and dry as could be( having been given a choice and asking for medium-rare!) assortment of overpriced starters too.
hoping to end this meal on a sweet note, and not wanting the choice of tiramisu, nor flourless choc cake, i was refused my request of simple icecream ... with the ‘dessert chef’ sending a message that they do not serve their stock icecream on this evening menu.
all-in-all, two attentive super waitpersons, and a menu never to require my patronage again... if this is the lack of culinary standards.
overpriced and highly disappointing. in case you're wondering, expectations weren’t met!
left the restaurant angry and feeling cheated!

the casa labia and cucina labia made sure our day was super special thanks to its majestic ambiance, inventive cuisine and service that was superb! our guests couldn't stop raving about the canapés and desserts that were on another level.

thank you to monché and rebecca for all the help in making this a truly magical experience!

i was looking forward to coming back here after our previous visit a year ago. the ambience and surroundings are still amazing, and the service was wonderful. one of our party had specific food requirements and the service staff did their very best to accommodate this.
with regard to the food, the polpette were good and the brioche bun was great. the pasta was disappointing, not what i was expecting. the pastry was soggy and tough and overwhelmed the filling. the funghi were delicious.

beautiful views from a stunningly ornate setting. we had tea and a scone and coffee and a cinnamon bun. both pastries were freshly baked. not a cheap place to go to, but certainly a great experience.

good position excellent ambiance and service. ideal for a special occasion.
the food presentation was good. as a main we had the beef rib which was delicious and the nero pasta, very poor in taste and presentation as it was 2 tasteless pieces of pasta with a mixture of vegetables in the middle. i am not sure if the black pasta on top was burnt or suppose to be like that.
we will give it another try.

a little piece of italy near the sea. the food was great. unfortunately the service was a little slow to take the dirty plates, but otherwise, i recommend the breakfast and tea and scones!

this venue is a treat. there is so much history and it has such an aristocratic and european feel. the food was great. i will definitely be back!

casa labia is a beautiful, historical venue in muizenberg overlooking the sea (where you can even spot some whales if you're lucky!). with the ongoing roadworks, parking can be a bit challenging so best to check in with the staff about where to park and where the roadworks are currently.

i had my birthday party there and was pleasantly surprised that they had a gentleman playing piano. definitely a touch of class for a high tea.

it was not that cheap per head and also i had to pay extra for things like juice and the fact that we wanted the venue for another hour. i was a bit dissappointed that they could not cater halaal so we went for seafood and vegetarian. there was enough food to eat and the guests said it was tasty. overall, the service was good and i had a great time. they were kind enough to let me bring in a massive birthday cake and they helped to cut it too.

casa labia is just such an amazing place that i almost didn't post this review because i don't want other people to know about it!  it reminds me of the italian renaissance and has a art gallery upstairs.

it's expensive, so probably best saved for a special occasion.
