good food! although service time is a bit long but the waiters are attentive. ambiance is unique but it is quite dark. parking spaces are a problem since it's only street parking

really nice atmosphere that reminds me of spain. normal it is a spanish restaurant you may think. well it is not always the case and by far. this is the original outlet, which is by far better than the one in greenbelt. fish zarzuela and boquerones are quite nice. their verdejo white wine is excellent affordable and does not produce headhache. friendly staff. spanish staff from instituto cervantes go there. seal of approval i guess..
went back and tried their tapas. nice although a little oily.

they serve the best gambas in the city and the conchinillio is to die for but you have to order a day in advance. dishes that are also highly recommended are iberian chicken, baked clams, and sopa de marisco. service is excellent. one of my favorite restaurant in the metro. been coming here since the late 1990s. )

service was fantastic and so was the food!
the ambience was definitely romantic perfect place for a date but just as fun with a night out with yo boys or girlzz!! 😝
we randomly decided to eat at this place on a saturday night, no reservations needed, found it on the right side of the road a long a food strip (perfect, more options) it was quiet, not crowded and the food? just the right amount. especially for two!

me and my girl ordered the:
"gambas al ajillo" (appetizer)
sautéed shrimp in olive oil...
if you love shrimp, you know that feeling when you take your first bite, it's nice and has that "tender crunch".. mmhm.. and that fried minced garlic all around it, ugh!! 😍 who doesn't love that.

we felt good today so we decided to order some wine and we went with the medium sized "sangria"
and if you've ever tasted sangria at barcino, you'd definitely appreciate this more (depending on your preference) it's the usual dry but doesn't have that strong bitter taste at the end, the fruits overpowered that and i just loved it. definitely lighter and overall is just damn delicious.

then for our entrée we went with "paella negra"
usually paella taste delicious on the first bite but this one, you kinda have to eat a lot of it at first and then slowly but surely you start to appreciate it.. idk it could just be me but it's definitely worth a try :)

lastly we ordered the "pijama" for dessert..
it was just leche flan with peaches and a scoop of
ice cream. so.. you can be the judge of that hahaha.

overall 5.0 because who doesn't love good service and tasty food?! 😋😋

enjoy😘

one of the best spanish resto i've been to. staffs were very courteous and attentive. my husband and i celebrated our anniversary here with our son. we ordered chorizo frito, paella valenciana (which my son loves) and pollo al ajillo. the garlic chicken was a favorite. it was garlicky, crispy and tasty inside and out! but of course, we dine here for their paella and it was delicious! will come back here soon!

casa armas tapas bar y restaurant
1. pechugas de pollo al vino tinto. chicken breast in red wine for p395
2. caldereta de cabrito. goat caldereta for p360.
#weekdateswithdad #tablefortwo
while waiting for our order we were served toasted french bread with new zealand butter while watching the world go by through our window seat.
the goat caldereta was served first and was very soft at the first bite. you could still see the steam coming out from the food in the picture below. its flavor as well was very strong because of the sauce it was bathed in. although it satisfied our palettes, one would bite into several pieces of bone. so be careful.
the chicken was quite the opposite in taste. quite plain when you bite into it but there was more than enough sauce on the platter to add to your plate.
total bill amounted to p871.43 with service charge.

when i first saw this wine at casa armas , it almost made me laugh. because gago in manila is ( stupid )..the first sip was not impressive. but you will somehow appreciate the aroma and boldness as you reach and sip the bottom of wine in your glass.

this is our place to go when "i need a wine because a beer is not enough" mode after a hell of a week at work. a good place to chill and enjoy your wine with a good amount of serving of tabla jamon serrano. they will also give you a complimentary bread and butter and that is enough to forget your not so good days.

i have tried their gambas, salpicao and manchego. they are all good with your choice of wine. good enough serving for 3 person to share.

sangria is also good with a good kick to your heart.

a bit pricey, but worth it for an authentic spanish dish.

i haven't tried their main courses, though. their paella is my next mission.
