caraffa last night was warm, cosy and filled to capacity. unchanged in twenty odd years, it remains popular in the hugely competitive restaurant industry.
i had campari, orange juice & soda to start the evening.
a yummy half portion of ravioli, filled with minced beef and covered in cream sauce. homely, basic and delicious.
to follow: sirloin of lamb, cooked in the pizza oven, medium (to order). on the outside it was crisply caramelised but still pink inside - moist & tender.
partly covered with a reduced cream of mustard sauce. very good.
vegetables are served in a divided dish for the table.
steamed potato, stirfried cabbage and zuchini ribbons. fresh and cooked well.
husband had a creamy almond flavoured panna cotta with berries - delicious.
service professional and friendly.
