the best place for cappuccino or espresso in montreal. landmark place that  has been doing it right since 1956 . old fashion cafe with plenty of seating inside.  decor has not changed since opening and is minimalistic at best. the place is always buzzing and very busy. sit at the bar, chat up the barista, its the coolest spot and the most fun.  trust me, once you have their coffee you will never want to go anywhere else.

stopped in for a coffee and had a quick conversation with the lady behind the counter she was so nice. this truly is an amazing coffee shop old school italian vibe. excellent coffee.

i still like caffe italia but after going back and back, coffee is not as good as others (they use their specific blend of union) but most of all, price went up making it a round $3 for a cap. while it is not bitter as previously, i don't find it that satisfying. it leaves me wanting more which means i'd have to get a second serving so we're talking $6 coffee now.

mind you, i still enjoy going here for the decor and vibe of what it's like to live in the 60s but strictly speaking coffee, there's better

la place était bondée un jeudi après-midi! ceux qui m'ont servi ont été rapides et courtois. j'ai opté pour le sandwich au rôti de porc garni de légumes et de piments marinés, que j'ai bien aimé, même s'il n'a rien de spécial. puis, j'ai pris un latte (ils n'ont qu'un format), et il était parfait. mon latte préféré à montréal demeure cependant celui de st-henri! ps. les prix incluent les taxes et ils ne prennent que l'argent comptant.

non-existent & unfriendly service; we were seated and no one came to take our order or remove dirty plates (we did it ourselves). the coffee was good & reasonably priced but the ambiance was bad so we won't be returning.

excellent little cafe in little italy. they serve authentic espressos, cappuccinos, caffe lattes, and biscotti. nice place to go, grab a coffee with a friend and relax a bit. also their pressed sandwiches are delicious.

this joint holds dear memories of family, wisdom, nutella and seeing arcade fire! love to be there on saturday mornings right before the weekly marché shopping.

caffe italia: in the heart of the jean-talon market in montreal, you drink your espresso or cappuccino in a 1960´s decor. the minute you open the door, you know you're stepping in a familiar italian setting. football games on tv, slices of panettone, imported shaving cream from italy you can buy and panninis for lunch. oh, and of course, great service.

café typique italien !. bon cappuccino + bon sandwich, un café classique de la petite italie ! assez kitsch, comme déco avec des vieux cadres de la sélection italienne de soccer, des posters de formule 1 et aussi pleins de vieux italiens qui prennent leurs expressos et lisent leurs journaux. prix très abordables, service correct, assurez-vous que le serveur vous vois car ça risque d'être long, café populaire toujours rempli. dépaysement assuré, comme si vous étiez en italie. ciao ! 4/5 visité en mars 2015.

typical noisy espresso joint.. excellent espresso served in traditional brown porcelain cups. serves sandwiches. great service.
