a small breakfast/brunch joint located at a walking distance from the university, this place is popular among both students and residents in the area.

the menu has a pretty good variety with omelettes, toasties, and burgers. they also do a full english breakfast. they also offer waffles and pancakes. for drinks, they have a variety of milkshake flavors (chocolate, snickers and oreo to name a few) as well as coffee.

you order at the counter and wait for your food to arrive at the table (the lines are quite long, so it can get stuffy as its a small place). however, there is both indoor and outdoor seating.

as a first-timer, i was quite impressed. i had a chocolate milkshake, which was creamy and delicious, and not too sweet. i also had the classic burger, which can be ordered with any side. the burger was juicy and warm, it wasnt too greasy as well.

the only downside to this place, is the long waiting time for food - it can take upto 40 minutes, which isnt good if you're there for a quick bite. overall, its recommended! 😏

exactly what was needed!!. the area has been crying out for a cafe just like this. the food is excellent and the staff are great!! highly recommended!!

amazing food and a great atmosphere!!. this is by far the best café in reading and probably one of, if not the best café i've been too anywhere!
café yolk offers an amazing breakfast and lunch menu with a few culinary firsts for reading (i.e pancakes with streaky bacon!!). the speciality coffees on offer are by far the best in reading, there is no where better to go for your caffeine fix!

the staff and owners are extremely polite and friendly and the whole café has a great atmosphere, even the clientèle that the café attracts adds to the overall feel and friendliness.
the café can get busy on weekends during lunchtime, however the service is always to a high standard and you're never kept waiting longer than you should be, and trust me, the food is worth the wait!

despite only opening 3 weeks ago café yolk has already become extremely popular with the locals and has developed a loyal customer base and keeping in touch with the times, has a facebook page, twitter account and is on foursquare, where they regularly keep you up-to-date with news and great special offers and promotions (so it's definitely worth following them!)

i would highly recommend going to café yolk to any of my friends or family and already have done many times and i'm sure that i will continue too! such an amazing family run business where quality and value have been blended perfectly!

the best burger ever - probably . . .. returned to east reading's stylish new hang-out, café yolk for a second time - the yolk burger has to be the best i've ever tasted. other restaurants should take note, use good quality ingredients and the food speaks (or in this case sings) for its self. the place is bright and fresh and the only thing sunnier than the yolk's on their eggs is the hospitality and service from the staff. five st*rs, can get busy (but worth the wait) and they don't take cards currently (cash point across the road).
