definitely not worth the trip!. i have to admit, i am pretty shocked with all the great reviews for this restaurant. my employer has taken our whole company there three times in the past two years, and so far every time my experience has been the same. the food is completely average! some of the dishes are under seasoned, and noodles get overcooked. the tiramisu is probably one of the worst i have had. i think you get a good feel for the ambiance based on the other reviews. my experience could be tainted by the fact that i always go with a large party, but the bottom line is that every time i go i am thankful i do not have to pay for the subpar food.

café vico ristorante honors tradition with flare. this cozy italian ristorante in the heart of fort lauderdale pulses to its own beat by combining traditional with innovative, which has been its secret formula for success for the past fourteen years. marc

incredibly romantic for a strip mall. my wife and i have repeatedly returne to cafe vico for anniversaries, valentines day, etc., for the food, service, and ambience (in that order). food has always been spot on and service responsive. the place is very popular so i would suggest reservations on a weekend night, and well in advance of valentine's day if you plan of going there. prices are more than reasonable, even for the specials. i agree with past reviewer that desserts should be expanded, but don't let that keep you away.

what happened ? prices went up and quality went down. for these prices you are much better off at casa dangelo or valentinos. twenty two bucks for spaghetti with pesto ? gimme a break.

bro this place is great broski oski. the tortellini is ridiculously amazing, my wife’s choice. personally i went with the rigatoni bolognese which was very good but i should ordered something higher end.

bread & garlic oil has a bunch of chopped minced garlic and peppers. dude this place would make the sopranos, gotti crew and the gambinos proud.

954 italian came strong with this one brah!

overpriced pasta. went to café vico for the first time on friday night. arrived just before 730pm and were seated outside on the patio right away. we were glad to be out there because inside was extremely loud. food was good. not outstanding. for the prices café vico charges service and food should both be over the top. it wasn't. i ended up getting the eggplant rollatini, which was enough for a dinner, and my boyfriend had the fettucini carbonara. the sauce was a bit thin, but otherwise ok.

i wouldn't recommend going here unless you have money to burn. i've had better home made past at a chef owned and operated restaurant in davie at much better prices.

authentic italian spot. had the eggplant rollatini as an appetizer and the fettuchini alfredo as my main course. everything was so delicious, especially the bread and garlic dip they serve once you sit down!

very average & overrated. definitely not very impressed with this restaurant whatsoever. believe it or not there is such a thing as too much garlic, and the dip that is served with bread is overpowering and too overwhelming with the garlic. the stuffed clam appetizer was heavenly and fresh, and unlike most restaurants in the area, they give you an ample amount for a very fair price.
i have to say however, the chicken parmesan i had was terrible! it seemed as if the chicken wasn't fresh and was old. it tasted extremely gamey and i really couldn't even finish it all. the side pasta was bland, the sauce had no flavor and was nothing special. and i'm sorry, i really don't go to an italian restaurant looking for sweet potatoes as a side with authentic italian food!! very strange. i felt like it was latin / spanish italian. when i go for italian, that's what i expect, not italian with a fusion or twist. i'm not too sure what to think of this place but i definitely won't be back.

cheese & the worst was the appetizer that was their special for the evening, consisted of two shrimps wrapped in a tiny bit of prosciutto. their idea of flavor is drowning everything and garlic. honestly the best part was the bread. we will never return there again!

i want to clarify the state of italian food in south florida. there is only one true italian restaurant with a familial welcoming and polished presentation of food. there is no other true italian restaurant other than cafe vico. the owner marco has time and time again proven to us their cuisine far supersedes all others. gratzi marco! we have found out favorite italian restaurant.
