a mediterranean café with a turkish twist, café tu-o-tu serves up a range of tasty panini’s, wraps, and salads at a more affordable price. as an increasingly broke college student, i don’t really have the money to throw down fifteen dollars for lunch like most of the fancier places in georgetown.

all good things, cafe tu o tu. while strolling through the georgetown and west end parts of washington, dc, i came across this hidden gem. only opted to have coffee and i was quite pleased that i did. the west end area has high pedestrian traffic that is a deterrent to going to any shop. however, cafe tu o tu is masked between a bookstore and a busy cupcake shop. i will return to see what other items the menu offer.

served me a sandwich on stale, old bread. where's the quality control?

delicious!. stopped by cafe tu o tu earlier this afternoon for lunch. the menu offers so many choices, so i had trouble deciding. the pear and pasta salads looked tempting, but i finally settled on a "parisienne" baguette sandwich (roast beef, brie, dijon mustard, and lettuce [or alfalfa sprouts]). it was delicious and filling.

with fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, and mediterranean specialties, i really need to eat at cafe tu o tu more often. it's fast, convenient, down-to-earth, and has free wifi. it's a real change of pace from pricier casual georgetown restaurants. plus the little tables out front are perfect for people-watching on m street. and you can't miss all the vips entering and exiting the four seasons...
