one of our favorite spots for coffee, breakfast, and lunch. creative menu items, and a comfortable and attentive approach that makes you feel a bit as though you have stopped by a friend's house for coffee, only better! they have great breakfast options served all day, including waffles with beacon...waffle are made from scratch with real maple syrup. no refined sugar, excellent cheddar egg & applewood smoked beacon , gluten free biscuits, friendly, customer oriented, and good coffee and they always use organic milk, how cool is that?!

bellevue needed this. finally a gourmet sandwich and coffee shop has arrived in bellevue. starbucks gets old after while. cafe cesura . amber said that the chicken salad sandwich was the best she's ever had. it's with radishes and tarragon on potato roll. i love kobe beef and ordered their steak sandwich. it's served with arugula and olive tapenade on baguette. we also liked that it's open for dinner, so we can walk there on a nice spring evening while it's still light out.. we both only drink coffee in the morning so we digested the meal with some healthy and savory jasmine tea with pearls, which hit the spot. the place is clean airy and well lit creating the perfect ambience

the chicken salad sandwich is amazing. the homemade chips are incredible. the breakfast sandwiches are both tasty and filling enough to leave you needing only a snack until dinner.

prices for individual item range up to $12 as of this writing, but the quality makes everything a great value. if the menu leaves you a little list, as it did one earlier reviewer, just look behind the counter, point, and ask. you won't be disappointed.

as a business of this nature is not meant to serve the public. racism and costant harrasment of non white patrons is a failure of compassion and has no place being a member of the community.

great coffee but terrible customer service.

i am a law-abiding us citizen and a bellevue home-owner for the past fifteen years. i endeavor to support our local businesses and, over the past months, i’ve been a regular patron at café cesura, located at 1015 108th av. ne.

given my regular visits to café cesura, i receive regular e-mails from them and, yesterday, i went there to use a $2 coupon just i just received. as usual, i ordered a cappuccino and took a seat while i waited for it checking emails, etc.

as i didn’t hear my name called, i approached the counter and asked for my coffee. the lady behind the counter pointed to a paper cup and told me they had called several times and i didn’t come. i explained that i had not heard it (the place was very crowded and noisy) and asked if i could have my coffee in a regular cup instead of the paper cup since i wanted to enjoy it at the store as i’ve always done.

the lady got a cup and threw the coffee into it, spilling it around and making it even colder. i then politely asked again if i could get a new coffee to what another employee (shawn) yelled at me saying: “this is all the coffee you’re going to get today”. i asked why he was so upset and he replied: “i will not deal with this crap today. you’re harassing me and i’ll call the police”.

although i would not have bothered bellevue police with a matter like that, since i hadn’t received the coffee i paid for and shawn took the initiative to call the police, i decided to wait for them to arrive. (later i learned from the police officer that i should have waited outside).

about five minutes later, two officers arrived, walked into the store, approached me and, before even saying “good afternoon” or asking any questions told me: “sir, you are trespassing and you can be arrested for that.”

i was really surprised by this approach and proceeded to explain them what had happened. both officers agreed that shawn’s behavior was excessive but explained me that it was in his rights to request a “notice of trespass”. he did exercise his right and i received the notice.

a day has passed and i am still trying to understand the reasons behind shawn’s completely unacceptable behavior towards a regular customer who was politely asking for something very simple that should never have sparked such behavior from him. unfortunately, the only reasonable explanation i can find is that, for whatever reason in his view, he didn’t like to have my presence in his store.

terrible customer service!!! my husband asked for a new coffee because the one he got was cold and was literally told "this is all the coffee you are going to get here". he had not shaved that day and he has an accent so i'm pretty sure they judged him by his appearance. never heard anything like this before! we have lived walking distance for this place since 2000 (long before they opened) and we will make sure none of our friends and neighbors will ever step there again!

seattle, dubbed by many as the coffee capital of the u.s., has
countless cafes and coffee shops.  type
in “coffee” in seattle yelp, and select “downtown” area, it shows 227 coffee
spots in a small, roughly six-by-eleven block area.

of course, many of these stores are giant starbucks, or smaller giant tully’s; most importantly, there
are also many local independent, or three to four store chains.  one of these small chains that i love is storyville; they are only three stores in
the seattle area, with a roasting studio on bainbridge island …

on this side of the lake though, i like cesura, aside from the french bakery.  the french bakery uses attibassi coffee, flown in fresh weekly
from italy.  the espresso is dark,
bold, and very roasty; its character cuts through milk, and very much
in-your-face.

on the contrary, cesura’s espresso is smooth …

quite a good café in bellevue. considering there’s not much around, this was pretty good. the baked goods were overall good enough to satisfy my cravings. i wish i could’ve tried more of their sweet goods. the latte and green tea latte’s were impressive. i would come back if i was in bellevue again to get my coffee fix.

attractive place, mediocre food. they carry stumptown coffee, which is why we stopped. but, the shots weren't pulled very well and the breakfast sandwiches were a bit bland. (how do you mess up an egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich?!)

fabulous coffee. without a doubt, the best latte i have ever had. you hear so much about coffee in seattle but this is truly a mile above any other cup i have ever had here. really worth the trip, believe me.

cool, crunchy, subtly flavored and packed with protein! and, we couldn't resist the mt townsend creamery new moon grilled cheese. could there be a better soul food? mt townsend creamery new moon grilled cheese and a, the coffee addict, ordered a latte and was quite disappointed when it came served in a glass instead of the huge wide mouthed cup and saucer. well, it's just their style, huh? the taste was great, though.

where business makes friendships. i brought an out-of-town salesman to cesura for a business meeting instead of a franchise of one of the big guys.

with cheddar egg and apple smoked bacon on potato bun in belly, we broke the ice over the pleasant, peaceful atmosphere and delightful food provided.

the service was exceptional and the tree slab conference table gave the meeting the feel of authenticity.

you will not find a better setting for a small group meeting or an individual cup of joe.
