i love cafe capricho because i have seemingly endless options there. they are willing to convert nearly their entire menu to vegetarian or vegan upon request. and i don’t need to do any math. i simply let ed know that one of their fabulous burrito concoctions looks amazing, and ask if he could set me up with a vegetarian version, and wallah! all the secret moles and almond sauces come out on alternative proteins such as beans or greens (yes, greens have protein). no, a cheese enchilada at a mexican restaurant is not really an exciting option for me. to me, that is like going to a deli and ending up with bread and cheese. i get to enjoy all of marina’s creations because she takes the time to make it work for me. they also have great choices for gluten-free and vegans. most importantly, they know what all those basic terms mean.

i don't really understand the popularity of this place. it doesn't meet my expectations for mexican food, but it does have healthy options if that's what you are looking for. i feel like they miss on flavor.

still hungry.. just spent $9+ on a stuffed poblano, and am currently in the drive thru of del taco down the street looking to fill the vacancy in my stomach. it tasted alright, but nowhere near enough bang for the buck. hopefully the rest of the menu is decent with 33rd st bistro a few steps away with an amazing menu.

a few peds interns and i came here for lunch since we had a random gap in our schedule.  i wasn’t too impressed with the food overall, the tacos were a little bland. it was missing some seasoning to help elevate it. this place was pretty busy for lunch time and parking in the area wasn’t easy, not too sure if this will become my regular lunch place.  

this is our 4th time here. this time we shared butternut squash and poblano chile quesadillas and they were great! the service was great and the ambiance is relaxing.

worst service ever. i ate at cafe capricho two weeks ago- the food was good, not great, but good. while we were eating i moved my chair closer to my friend's side of the table so i could see her computer (we were having a working lunch) and a busboy told me to move my chair back, that i was blocking the aisle. that was fine, but what was shocking was that after my friend and i ate the owner's wife came by and took our basket of chips (still had chips in it) and asked us how much longer we would be staying in the restaurant. she then came back and said that i had not moved my chair back enough to my side of the table, and angrily told us that we needed to leave the restaurant. my friend and i were shocked, we quickly left and will never return to cafe capricho. from the reviews on yelp, there have been many other patrons who have received equally bad or worse treatment. beware!!!!!

great stuff. i have eaten all three meals (i.e., breakfast, lunch and dinner) here. the food is always consistantly great. i have never had a bad meal here. my favorite is the shreaded beef taco. second on the list are the burritos, which i might add is a meal and a later snack. their green tomatillo salsa is great. i go in about once a week and purchase a pint. they do something to it, they simply do not open a can and dump it in a bowl.

yes, cafe capricho can be crowded which; in my opinion, attests to the consistant quality of the food. the one reviewer that kavitched about the waiting 20 minutes for a food order and another 20 minutes for a drink should have realized the place was busy. they had 20 minutes to decide/think/ponder an order and they did not order a drink? yes, if you hit that place at the wrong time is is crowded. there are times i phone in and drive over and pick it up and hang out at mckinley park or just go home and enjoy a wonderful meal. i have never had to wait 20 minutes for service, this must be an exageration.

good. really good (and super fresh) food. beans and rice were perfect! i had two tacos one fried shredded beef (excellent!) and the other was a soft carnita taco, found that the carnita was way too dry! i will go back for sure, just won't order the carnitas. the place was really crowed (off the hook) for a 6pm fortunately i called in an order and it was ready when i got there and it was to go so don't know how long it would take if i just happed in.

food was very good, especially the stew and people were frienldy. however, while we rate the food a 4 out of 5, the service was, at best, a -2 or even 1. they need a better way to take orders-one person with a line for over 20 minutes is beyond patience. if you want another beverage, no one seems to be able to respond other than to suggest you wait in line another 20 or more minutes. finally, the dinner took close to 45 minutes to arrive at our table.

although we want to support our neighborhood restaurants and enjoyed the food, we will not go back in the near future. too many other places, such as sellands, offer a convenient counter order service, but with prompt table service and delivery of plates. they also offer a separate bevereage order service, which is desperately needed at cafe caprichos.

good food, but very slow. i really like the food here. great vegetarian and vegan options. their service is, however, painfully and unneccesarily slow, even if there are no other customers in the restaurant. if you are with a group of people, do not count on getting your food at the same time. others in your party may be done eating by the time your order arrives. so, as long as you are in no hurry whatsoever, this is a great place to eat.

they have the worlds best onion rings,garlic fries, and blue fries onion rings are the best seriously! cheap food that is high quality :) chips and salsa are wonderful go to this restaurant =)

great prices, fresh and tasty food. best chile verde we've had, and the fish tacos and mushroom quesadillas were delicious. we will be back with the kids!
