i've been going to this place over 26 years. sadly the quality of service, food and most importantly management just has gone so poorly. other than the outdoor ambiance the menu is way overpriced and not worth what they are asking. the owner's daughter who is now in charge is rude and doesn't like to hear any feedback. twice, i tried to talk to her to simply provide her feedback and she rudely turned her back and left saying i'm busy. i caught their kitchen staff a good few times leaving bathrooms not flushing their own towelettes let alone washing their hands. i stopped eating food since i didn't trust how clean the food is. they made their money and could care less on how to improve themselves and hire the right managers. one of their managers rather than protecting me, bullied me and my dogs over and over again since she just couldn't handle the situation ensuring other customers who actually were bothering and even made racist remarks to me to leave me alone since i was only one person. she took the side of aggressive bullying customers she couldn't handle. twice this happened to me and while she acknowledged that she miss-handled the situation she continued doing the same treatment with me while i was only minding my own business and others were bothering me and my dogs including a staff who just shouldn't be there other than serving coffee. they should be ashamed of themselves how they treat customers like me coming over 25 years making them the money they got they now treat so badly. i've spent an avarage of $4 to $10 at a minimum of 5 days a week since 25 years ago at their restaurant. they called the police on me just because my dogs barked a few times when other dogs were passing by while there were other dogs at the restaurant barking as well. the incompetent managers were the ones bulling and bothering me and my little dogs again since once again they couldn't handle the situation with the aggressive bullying customers and took on me one person they could bully. absolutely no integrity. they have lost business throughout the years and they will continue to do so as this kind of poor management style won't last for too long.

service varies but is usually good.  food is ok, but not great.  the big win here is that it's downtown menlo park, across the street from the train station, and has plenty of outdoor seating.  it's fine, but don't go very far out of your way for it.

when i wake up in the morning craving waffles, cb is the place i go to fill that craving. their waffles are sooo good here. i have them cooked extra crisp with a side of whipped cream which makes it even better. their other breakfast items are pretty good too. my hubby loves their #4 - scrambled eggs with fresh salsa, avocado and sour cream with a side of sausage. their mocha is pretty good as well. i do wish they had more choices for kids. that's just me cause my kid is a bit picky. although the price is a bit high, the food is worth it. it's a great brunch spot with plenty of outdoor seating. if your visiting for the first time, get in line, order your food, grab your number and coffee or other hot beverage and look for your seat. line here gets very long but does go by fast. so don't leave when you see the line out the door and pass the out door seating area. normally when the line is long one of us will order while the other looks for a table. now i want a waffle.

they don't have high chairs! i have never hear of the restaurant without highchairs unless it is super fancy. it seems like a family friendly place but i guess i was wrong. one lunch with a squirming baby on my lap convinced me not to go back! bring your own highchairs and tell management to be more friendly to parents if they want out business!

great frosted mochas, best buttermilk and blueberry scones, wonderful salads, only place i know that routinely serves chicken salad sandwiches on raisin toast, great hang-out morning or night, mix of french classes, swimmers, techies, families, stanfordites, chess players, sometimes bands, dogs.

great place. this cafe borrone is packed with stanford students and professors alike. they serve great food, deserts and cappuccinos. the atmosphere is friendly and live music is always an added benefit.

delicious!. probably my favorite cafe in the bay area. great coffee, great food (try the steak churrasco sandwich, or any breakfast item), and great atmosphere. their food is a little pricey, but largely worth it. they pull an excellent espresso shot (sadly, truly delicious espresso is hard to find). their whipped cream is heavenly! i sometimes get the hot chocolate just so i can have whipped cream. ;)

the spot. this is the quintessential hangout spot. find high school kids from around the area, stanford kids, teachers, everyone comes here. sure the menu can be a little pricey, but their breakfast is amazing, their bakery goods are pretty good, and who can forget their frosted mochas?

i end up spending a lot of time here, for several reasons. cafe borrone has a large outdoor seating area, with a fountain that masks some of the traffic noise from busy el camino real. there's free wi-fi, an
