best pizza ever. they have the best thick crust pizza i have ever had! i no longer live in michigan, but every time i come back i make a bee line here.

there is never a time i won’t stop at a buddy’s pizza. i seek them out whenever i have time when i’m in detroit and i hope one of these days, they’ll make the move to the west side of the state. the world needs to know about detroit pizza and it shouldn’t come from a chain that’s piggybacking off buddy’s success. a delicious detroit style pizza doesn’t cost $5…or whatever it is…a delicious detroit style pizza can only come from the ones who invented it.

so i am from chicago.. i like loumalnatis nancy's taylor street... this was def not my fav pizza. crust is good. not enough sauce taste cheap... which it is haha. salad was good nothing special.

like it, don't love it.. if you like really thick crust and a pizza-bread like experience then this is a good place to stop. very filling, and they aren't shy on the toppings

i enjoyed the pizza i had, and thought they delivered on quality and service. not my fave place in the d area, but i would go back every now and then.

coney pizza. i come from windsor just for this pizza. it is awsome.

when ever we are in the area i get htis pizza even the day after its soooo good. my kids just the cheese pizza but good. and the anti pasta salad is also the best.!

tasty pizza and some solid other options (try the soup). on the greasy side, but a delicious multigrain crust option makes you feel better. best pizza i've had in metro detroit.

old style sicilian pizza best in town. detroit's oldest area small chain of super square pizza is a must try on your search for a favorite pizza,,,love the square type pizza with the greasy crunchy side along with the thick cheese topped pizza. yes the have a great take out area too and my favorite is the large antipasto salad with the great house dressing. also plating up many other italian favorite meals and sandwich;s. super special for kids birthday parties to. a very good selection of craft beers on tap always keeps me coming back for more.

buddy's best location. i've been to all the buddy's and this is my very favorite,,the pizza and salads are so very good each time and the outside eating area right on michigan ave is a super plus.

great service, great food with fresh taste, great atmosphere. would absolutely recommend!

probably a dick title but being 2nd to louis is a huge achievement in my book. their pizza is amazing and the fact that they have multiple locations allows people from all over michigan to get a taste of detroit style pizza. similar to louis and shields.

great in every way. this was my third buddy's experience (each at a different location). this was by far the best time.

it was a monday night around 8pm. we ordered a large square detroiter and a pitcher of beer while we watched monday night football. the waitress didn't pay any attention to us but it looked like she was trying to pick up two dudes at the bar.

pizza was perfect. outside crust was crispy but not burnt. the thing that made this great was that the center was baked well also. yeah the crust is really greasy but it's crispy and not too salty. the cheese on top was just browned and all the toppings were good. until i went to pizza house in ann arbor this was my vote for best pizza in detroit.

if you like the classic detroit square deep dish with a crispy crust this is a "must try" type of place.

pizza i hate. this place is beautiful. a great looking place. the service is great, although the place can get crowded with lunchtime ford folks. (we are in dearborn or course!)

but what is it that people like about the pizza at buddy's? it is awful. the flavor is bad and i feel queasy ever time i've gone. (and i've eaten here about 10 times.) i've had the regular toppings as well as the chicken barbeque and i dislike all of it.

i do like the deep dish squares, the detroit pizza! - but from jet's or paisano's. not from here..........

but it must just me me, 'cause just about everyone else likes buddy's!

up with the thumbs!. very good deep dish style pizza. huge variety of toppings including many not seen/heard from very often. atmosphere is cool also. some cool historical stuff to see inside. i will say this, the leftover pizza didn't travel to well and seemed soggy upon re-heat at home. moral of the story, eat it all there!

nice fix for this sicilian-american girl.... i was visiting detroit, and just had to try this place, since they were highly rated by food network. the pizza was did not disappoint. the ingredients were of a very high quality, and the quantities of cheese, sauce and crust were nicely balanced. i loved this pizza and if i ever happen to be in detroit again, would go back to buddy's in a second!
