very much a college diner vibe but good food. this will not be a michelangelo presentation but the food will be tasty and enjoyable. might be a little too loud for an older crowd but very pleasing atmosphere.

big crowd on a sunday, but host was gracious, service prompt and friendly, things moved briskly. good breakfasts, tasty well seasoned traditionals such as omlets, pancakes, home fries, hash, eggs benedict. we recommend this cafe. (catch the coffee exchange across the street for good coffee drinks too.)

good food, laid back atmosphere. i love coming here on a lazy weekend especially since theyre open til late afternoon for late risers. the service is hit or miss, the waitresses can be unpleasant sometimes. the atmosphere is very busy and a little cramped, but i find it to be more cozy than anything. the food is great, it's breakfast food not a gourmet restaurant, you know? some people go there expecting a fancy white tablecloth breakfast. its the east side, it's quirky unique and full of indie artist college students just looking for a normal weekend breakfast.

always a wait on weekends but worth it once your food comes. plus you have a funky young crowd to watch as you wait.

incredible pancakes. love this place. right now, their seasonal pancake is a pumpkin, chocolate chip and banana masterpiece. unbelievably good, reasonably priced and quick, friendly service.

mmmm, all day breakfast!. i call the brickway the "low end" breakfast spot of choice whereas "nick's" is the "high end". both are necessary and fill a niche. who doesn't want a place nearby that serves an all day breakfast of eggs every way, bacon, pancakes, french toast, etc. and the noisy chatter -- in the glass-fronted, shotgun room that is always packed with students, professors, artists and everyone else who loves a good breakfast at a reasonable price -- actually helps to provide an atmosphere of conviviality. the '80s-styled sponge washed walls leave something to be desired. they really need an update, but the two dozen or so old stainless steal legged and formica topped kitchen tables from the '60s and '70s make for a comfortable, even cozy room. my only complaint is that the hash browns aren't great, they lack the crispy bits and texture of great southern hash, but i do iove the steak & eggs. and the eggs benedict are also very good. i've had the blt with avocado and the burger along with other items off the lunch menu. brickway is just a great comfort food joint.

lazy weekender. i really wish i could make it to brickway more often. the only problem is the wait is pretty hefty on weekends! (unless i'm up early which just doesn't happen) delicious coffee & breakfast burrito all the way.
