bad business practices. you have to call it the way you experience it. we wanted to have my daughter"s college graduation dinner at the bsj, and at first we were told they could put us in the game room and perhaps there would be a few other diners as well. that was ok with us. secondly, we had to put down a $105 deposit, refundable deposit if we showed up. that was ok too. this was not one but 2 people we had talked too. on sat., apr 5, we made it a point to go have brunch at the bsj and give them our deposit. they had been informed that we would be there. when we arrived and were seated, i talked to the hostess who said we could talk to someone after we ate. we ate settled our bill and ask to talk to the person in charge of making the room arrangements. the hostess went off to find her and returned in about 5 mine to tell us that she was busy serving and could not talk to us today.we left our number and on sunday we get a call that they cannot let us have the room unless we guarantee a bill of $1,500 or more. we were told the owner makes these decisions and they had other parties waiting if we would not agree to the conditions that were stated. i simply told them that is not the way you run a business, based on greed and not being consumer friendly. after my advice and 2 cents lecturing on bad business practices and how they had reneged on our verbal agreement, i simply stated very calmly and friendly that if that was their policy of not having a policy per se, my message to them is i am not relinquishing what was promised to me, but it was their business and they can run it as they wished. never going back, never referring anyone to bsj.
the food was cold, nothing worse than cold potatoes with a sauce. my wife had the chicken and waffle. chicken was cooked to perfection, however, the waffle was nothing extraordinary, just a mediocre waffle anyone can make.
