good italian restaurant to have some pasta. the venue is quite cool, and in the summers they have a small patio that should be very lovely (i never used it :-( ). went for lunch and everyone was happy. it probably is a good spot as well for dinner before heading out into shoreditch. fairly priced.

it's quite a bit pricier than the humble mom and pop type italians i normally frequent, but portions are big and quality is very good.  service was efficient on a busy friday night.

there was a bottle of excellent fruity olive oil to dress the sour dough bread brought to the table as we sat down.  we started with the vegetable sharing board.  we were hungry and the restaurant was crowded  and the sharing board from the counter menu indeed arrived very quickly.  a generous dish with dressed rocket, sun dried tomato, olives, very lightly pickled turnips and shallots, sauteed wild mushrooms and baby artichokes, blanched asparagus and a little toast.  light, very tasty. and every element clearly made in house.

large portions of pasta for both of our mains were served very al dente.  i had the sedanini (similar to penne) with lobster and courgette.  decent value at £22 because of the luxurious way in which it was served.  a whole large lobster tail and a claw had been removed from the shell and roasted--a labour intensive job for the kitchen.  the pasta underneath was dressed with some sweet sauteed cherry tomato finished with a little cream.  there were some slivers of spiralized courgette to add texture.  a well thought out dish.

my companion's order of spinach tagliatelle with lamb ragu was not quite as exciting.  he enjoyed it, but i think ragu is just a boring thing to order in a restaurant.  pasta looked homemade being a very vivid green.  ragu was a little unconventional, in that it contained big chunks of tender braised meat instead of mince.

we couldn't finish our pasta mains, so didn't order dessert.  with a bottle of very nice house red, a two course dinner for two with service came to £75.

one of the best italian in london. the atmosphere, the food, the people, everything feels italian. the staff is great! providing samples of pasta to guide you. we had pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil, simply amazing! it was my second time there and won't be my last! bravo!

on one of my few lunch time ventures out of the office, a colleague recommended bottega prelibato. say what? yes, exactly, in shoreditch there is a traditional sounding, non-east london trendy italian restaurant. i have only ever been to sicily, so cannot bet my life on the fact that this is “traditional” italian, but it is certainly what i would imagine it to be. the quaint little place is on rivington street and the simplistic food was full on.

great place. their menu is rarely the same, changing main dishes according to what fresh ingredients they have.
they had gluten free pasta, and made one of their truffle pastas using that. it was excellent and i will definitely be returning.

the ambiance of the place is also great, making it seem very intimate. a place worth recommending!

lovely italian. the menu style is a little awkward as they place large blackboards on the table in italian then go through dish by dish explaining them.

my smoked mozzarella starter was a little bland but the veal tortellini main was absolutely divine and worth returning for alone.

service was very good and attentive.

third time lucky. always try to get here without a reservation just because that's the way i roll. always been turned away, but not this time! a table is available in half an hour and we are ordered to grab a drink in a nearby pub so had to oblige. it was a great decision. the menu is only available on a blackboard so presumably it changes everyday and keeps dishes fresh and exciting made from seasonal produce. for starters we chose sea scallops with spring onion, parma ham and smoked paprika gratin and a side salad. parma ham and scallops pair nicely together. for mains i definitely recommend the pasta dishes, i opted for asparagus tortelli served in sage butter (i'm always attracted to sage butter as for some reason i just can't perfect it myself) and my partner in crime went for the black tagliatelle with mussels, clams and saffron sauce. my choice was delicious but nothing on the seafood tagliatelle! miso jealous.

discovering a little piece of italy tucked in the shoreditch triangle was a joy. bottega prelibato is a charming and cosy restaurant / deli with bare brick walls and warm lighting. furnitures are all wooden and rustic. the menu here changes daily according to seasonality to make sure ingredients are fresh. when the server presents the black board written menu, she took her time to explain every single italian ingredient on the menu to make sure we know what they were. she even brought a wooden board of many different shapes of home made fresh pasta to show us which was which. it was baffling to see so many types of pasta and its many different names.

have been coming here for a couple of years now, it's a small italian restaurant/deli/art space, with a great menu that changes frequently. recommend their pasta dishes over meat, very fresh. portions are ennormous, and you will overeat. you can share, but that would be too healthy! they do great cakes for dessert. overall the restaurant is very cosy, intimate lighting, it's great for a small dinner with friends, or as a date place, in a little shoreditch street. i would recommend booking, but if you have a little patience, there are some good pubs around the corner where you can wait while you get a table! great service, very friendly and they take great care over explaining their menus, which are chalked up on giant boards and brought around to your table with great ceremony...
