boon fly cafe

disappointed. my husband and i had lunch here about 8 months ago and it was good and the cocktails were decent. fast forward to this sunday where four of us went there for brunch and we were all disappointed, especially after reading the glowing reviews. first off, the donuts ($1 each if you don't order a dozen) are really, really small. they taste a little like a sopapilla with a donut hole. good, but not great, and way over priced. two people ordered 'poppa joe's eggs in a hole'. basically, two large pieces of bread with a hole in the middle where the egg is fried, with hash browns and two pieces of overcooked dry sausage. ($13) two of us ordered 'boon fly benedict'. ($15) the eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was good, but the thick piece of ham was tough and dry. there was nothing special about the food or the experience and we won't be doing brunch here again.

i've been here quite a few times. but last two times have been far below their normal service. i bit into my fish taco and the fish was spoiled. i sent it back and the manager came and asked what was wrong i said the fish is spoiled i not only tasted but smelled it. he said it wasn't and i did not order anything else.

i know it's called boon fly, but flys inside the restaurant are ridiculous they were buzzing around us landing on our food it was gross.

so disappointed.

every single bite was amazing. my favorites were the chopped salad and the deviled eggs shown in photo. service was perfect too. highly recommend!

very cute place. small and limited menu but that's how i like it. be prepared for a wait on weekends. love the bloody mary. servers could be a little more personable and engaging but a busy dining room probably doesn't allow that.

very good breakfast options and worth the wait! we love the farm-to-table mentality and the excellent ingredients showed throughout the dishes. you have to try the donuts when you're here!

outstanding! got the eggs benedict with jalapeño hollandaise and the green eggs and ham. very high quality and great service. we are big fans and will be back next to we visit the valley.

love the menu... a lot of non-typical, great entrees. enjoyed reading through each one. coffee was really overpriced or i would have tried one. i decided on the boon fly benedict which is also very expensive, however, when in rome... while we were waiting outside, the crew brought a container out where they had a little coffee station, which was a great little touch. the benedict was really surprising: very tasty, the eggs were perfectly poached and yolk was awesome, hollandaise was sinfully good and the ham, which i usually don't like, was also yummy. didn't like the super burrito which terrah got as much. small donuts were fantastic.

the freshly made donuts and bacon bloody mary's were quite good.   the entree serving sizes were quite large, and everything was quite tasty.  note, it is a fairly small dinning room, so be prepared for a wait.

great proximity in the napa wine country.
they totally nailed the pulled pork sandwich (what we call a bbq sandwich in the carolinas) with an eastern nc flavor infused into the meat. and the "coupe de grassy" was the cole slaw on the sandwich. totally nc!

forgot to mention the amazing donuts! must have!

best breakfast in napa, for both adults and kids! bloody mary is superb. eggs benedict the best!

nice stop while in napa. we were served quickly and the food was great!

prices are steep, which you would expect from a 5 star resort like this. the food is excellent; i wish the service was just a bit better.

butternut squash ravioli is ridiculous! best ravioli i've ever had. we were a party of 10 and not one was disappointed. the ambiance was charming, the service was felicity!

outstanding everything my wife and i ate was great . i had the chicken breast and probably was the beast i've had in a long time. menu was small but focused which means what they cool is probably to perfection. can't wait to get there donuts in the am!

part of the carneros inn complex, particularly good choice for breakfast. the coffee, donuts, and boon fly benedict are worthwhile options here...
