best steak i've had in dc. the monster ribeye here was cooked perfect with a fantastic flavor. melted in my mouth. atmosphere was quiet and great for business meeting. would go here again.

this place serves the best steaks ever and i mean this.. i might not have the best experience in steaks but damn this one was good. i order mine well done snd damn it was good.

i like the oyster here. also like the atmosphere and service. i can give them 5 star for their service and atmosphere i love the oyster here.

had lunch here today with friends. i got sautéed spinach and crab cakes. my meal was delicious. friends got salmon salad and the other cat fish. they also enjoyed their meals. also got the pear salad as appetizer,breslau good.

the service was outstanding. the food was delicious; however, the price was a little steep for a casual dinner........  overall great experience..

as anthony bourdain said, "i want a f@&$!*g seafood tower"; well bobby van's signature seafood appetizer delivers, and it's off to the races after that! staff - knowledgable and attentive 5 out of 5. atmosphere - comfortable, we went dressy but saw very casual as well 4 out of 5. food - steaks best so far in dc, bobby van's knows what they are doing. will return often!

great portions for a romantic splurge. my wife and i both enjoy steak but, despite being from the midwest, we don't practically bathe in red meat like others we know. so, with that -- we were very satisfied with our experience at bobby van's on friday night.

the calamari appetizer was delicious -- as i type, i wish i had more of that. my wife and i decided to split both the crabcake entree and the filet mignon entree and found that eating 1/2 each gave us large portions. i'll admit that i was shocked when the filet mignon came out. i am used to filet mignon that is no larger than my balled-up fist and this one was almost twice that size.

the wine list was also good -- i'd have liked some more selection on the wines by the glass (though the bottle selection was great), but i enjoyed the acacia pinot i had with my steak.

all in all, a great romantic dinner spot that is fancy but not presumptuous when you have $150 to spend.

overall, the experience at bobby van's fell right into my mid-range of expectations. the atmosphere was more laid back than i'm used to in places like these. i regret not having looked over the menu to see if they had more to offer than normal steakhouse fare so maybe if i come back the sides and salads were prepared well and came out pretty flavorful. the dessert was decadent and filling. the steak itself was cooked well and close enough to how i wanted it done. i'm not sure i would mark bobby van's as a place i would go back to but i wouldn't necessarily turn down any dinners there in the future.

you're trying. the service was wonderful but everything was not. i know they are trying to look like an upscale steakhouse but the whole thing and the food felt second rate.

the service was impeccable, but for the price i think ray's the steaks is a better value for what you get. my husband and i ordered the porterhouse for two, which was done exactly how we wanted and my son ordered the ribeye, which he devoured. the prosciutto macaroni was delicious: rich and creamy with the right amount of crunch on top. was not impressed with the wine list, but all in all it was okay.

great place.. the food is excellent. service and atmosphere are excellent as well. just then type of urban hip steakhouse you are looking for. the bar is great.

great steak, similar to most steakhouses in this price range. had a fantastic wine list, excellent service. our sides, salads, and appetizers were delicious. the steak was good but didn't blow my socks off- typical of a ruths chris or similar place. food was overpriced on the whole, but for a special occasion and great steak i would recommend bv

porterhouse for two is not all it is hype in my opinion. the portion was smaller than most other credible steak houses. the frenh onion soup tasted like they used ragu sauce in the recipe. over priced and certainly not worth the hype.

the colorado lamb is excellent.
