found: a favorite place. nathan is a phenomenal chef. everything was perfection! everything. great service, wine, ambience, music, food. it's upscale but not pretentious. the mix of flavors, light but satisfying, well presented, beautiful! the salmon was amazing, with fava beans, artichoke, tomato, capers...fabulous! so happy to have found a place we want to return to over and over again. love it!

amazing, best restaurant on the eastside. just ate there last night, and i can't wait to go back. we were seated promptly at a nice spacious table on the mezzanine, the décor and ambiance is modern yet classic, very tastefully done - there was a great feel to the place. server was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave prompt polite service. the very best thing about this restaurant though was the food!

started with the ahi and albacore tartar, the mustard sauce and capers perfectly accented the delicious fresh fish. cioppino for the main course, it was an excellent balance of flavors and the seafood was all deliciously tender, best scallops i've ever had. to finish off, definitely try the tiramisu!! it was amazing!! really really cannot wait to return, what a great restaurant to have here on the eastside, an instant favorite.

finally an authentic italian restaurant. when you order pasta here, its going to come with just enough sauce: not drowned like many restaurants do. many of the dishes are typical of sardinia which is quite different than the rest of italy. we had a great dinner starting with an antipasto: tartar di tonno - great flavors, very simple so you could taste the fresh fish flavor. i ordered another antipasto for my dinner: insalata di mare - again very fresh and tender including the octopus. we also tried the malloreddus with the wild boar ragu. excellent flavorful pasta! its fairly expensive but well worth it.

heard about blu sardinia  from one of the most conventional way of advertising – a mailer to my home! turns out blu sardinia is in redmond bella bottega. the space is huge, airy with high ceiling. right at the entrance, inviting beautiful display of desserts, and the many colorful gelato flavors in the cold case would lure any hungry soul in.     my party was pleasantly surprised to find that they still had the “dine around seattle” menu, and it so happened to have the 2 things i wanted to try the most from the menu, so i dove right in. sword fish carpaccio: never had sword fish raw before in my life. thinly sliced soft flesh, what a departure from firm, bland, cooked sword fish that i disliked! raw version was actually buttery ...

2 hits and a miss. i ordered the fried risotto balls, which was beautifully presented and quite tasty. next was the eggplant panini. it had very little of the thinly slivered eggplant and the eggplant was impossible to bite into. i had to use my fingers to get it out of the sandwich. it was the consistency of thin leather. it came with whole wheat bread. i would definitely not order this again. the custard with berry compost had a beautiful presentation and was absolutely heavenly.

my friend had the garbanzo soup, which was a large serving and very good. she ordered the sole, which had 2 pieces of fish over a mound of gently cooked vegetables. for dessert, she ordered the sour cherry gelato, which she really loved.

we had the most adorable gentleman italian waiter who definitely added to the enjoyment of our lunch.

very amateur management and restaurant. we live very close by, we were excited when we heard blue sardinia opening. but big disappointment.
few weeks ago, i dropped by and made a reservation during day, when we showed up at the reservation time, they told us we have to wait at least 30 minutes. we walked away, of course.
last night we decided to give another chance, we walked in, there two girls welcomed us, one of them told, they have a table upstairs, while we were waiting to be seated, she came back and said, they don't have any space, they are only taking people with reservation at the moment. i have no comment about food, i haven't tested, but if they are not able manage simple seating/reservation task, i would question their food as well. nobody is going to a restaurant because they are starving. even at the entrance , if this is the experience, blu sardinia is providing, what can i say, good luck

totally tasteless. hard to believe that our beet salads, pasta with boar ragu, and pasta with clams could all be so tasteless, but it was as if someone had already sucked the flavors out of the three dishes and then spit the remainder back on plates.

authentic italian cuisine! great atmosphere and pleasant staff. the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming and generous. one of the two owners actually stood at the door and greeted everybody that came in. although it was a slow night, i still give them good credit for catering to my needs. the funniest part was meeting the italian presidents private chef. amazing group of friends here!

i was recently in italy eating all sorts of pasta. here i decided to try the maccarronis de busa and it was exactly what you'd expect in italy. al dente, not too rich nor too salty, unlike a lot of places that try to operate as authentic italian cuisine. the bread and cracker they bring out to you before your food was probably the best part. i loveeeddd the rosemary flavor and the baked taste of that darn cracker. i could come back just for that.. then again my girlfriend is the one making it, so perhaps my opinion becomes a bit biased. she's an excellent baker and pastry cook and does a good job here with her fellow colleagues.

the prices are reasonable, the entrees obviously in the mid 20's to high 40's but well worth it. i hear the lamb shank is to die for!

i totally recommend anyone who enjoys pasta to check it out. it's right in the heart of bella botegga ok redmond.

i will be back!

no response from this restaurant :(. i read with interest the review above, how the prospective diner called this restaurant and had an engaging conversation with the blu sardinia employee (or owner) who answered the phone. i've had the polar opposite experience (albeit via email, not phone). i emailed this restaurant nearly 2 months ago, as my family was so excited about the prospect of this restaurant's opening. we live nearby and we loved the concept and appearance of this place. we were hoping to be regulars here! i emailed the restaurant, asking when this site will be opening up, inquiring if my husband and i could attend its opening night, and complimenting them on the aesthetics of the restaurant in the making the menu - everything! i provided all our contact info. no one ever responded. ever. major let-down. i hope this is not an omen of its approach to its customers.

so, far i love it.... i've been waiting for this restaurant to open... i called the restaurants number to find out when the opening date is and i had the most entertaining conversation from the person anwsering the phone. if it's any indication how the restaurnant will be run, it will be a very successful restaurant. can't wait...
