blu ginger thai cafe

this place is fine for thai food.  thier thai iced coffee was really good.  my server brought that out while i waited for the rest of my meal.  i came here for lunch and had the golden yellow curry with chicken.  the wait was short and the lunch portion was plenty.  while my server was friendly, she was absent for most of the visit.  another server came by early on to check up on me , but i did not need my water replenished at that time.  later on during the meal, when i needed someone, there was no one to be found.  once i finished my meal, my original server brought the check, but was not very clear if i pay at the table or go to the counter.  i waited for what seemed like ten minutes, fiddling around on my phone and finally gave up and followed another table to the counter to pay.  the assistant to my server looked at me with an alarmed look and apologized to me and took my credit card and bill and went to another cash resister to ring me up.  she brought the receipt to me along with a coupon for 20% on my next meal (which was not going to happen).  i don't know if this was the standard procedure, but it's what happened to me.  

where was everyone?  well at the register i noticed the owners and several servers were just gabbing it up and i guess just forgot about the time.  i see a lot of the other reviews over the past couple of years say the same thing about the lack of service.  the gentleman who appeared to own the cafe came to shake my hand upon my leaving.  i smiled but there was nothing left to say.  for the record the food was good, service not so much.  i see they still have the sign in the window looking for servers and cooks.  a previous review mentioned that there is always this sign taped near the door.  well, it's still there.

ordered pad thai and it was good! though i would prefer the portion size to be bigger. the thai iced tea was also good but had too much ice. the place gets a little crowded during the lunch time but the ambiance was still good. servers were kind and accommodating.

my manager loved this place. so we frequented this once a week. i have had better thai food though this one is definitely above average. i ordered the standard lunch menu with chicken or shrimp and it tasted good. i somehow felt their portion a little on the lower end. nevertheless a good place to go to since irving is not really into thai food.

ordered pad thai for pickup, very bland overall and the peanut sauce had no kick. had no flavor and is not worth returning.

not worth it. i went their for lunch and the tables were so close to one another that my elbow was rubbing with others next to me.

the waiters were stretched beyond capacity and had no time for either take the order property or to server anything.

i ordered a pork soup with extra basil and instead got a chicken soup with no basil.

the taste of the food was just so-so.

never again!. don’t eat here! new servers and cooks all the time! just look at the door “help wanted”!
i have been going to blue ginger for years..and sad to say that this time will be my last.

i went to blue ginger around 1:15pm for lunch at 4/15/14 with a coworker. we ordered in the bar area and did a to go order. i ordered the chicken pad thai. once we order, everything went down from there. our server was new and she was all confused. there is always a help wanted sign on their door.. so i guess this explains my experience.

we got back to work and found that the food was horriable!! my food was over cooked, dry, and stuck together! it was un eatable. i called the restaurant after discovering that the food wasn’t eatable. i got silence! i was told someone would call me back and they never did. i called back around 5:20pm and got someone who said that the “owners” were very specific and no one could make any decisions without them. i asked, so you are telling me there is no one there to assist w/ customer inquiries? the person said to call back at 6pm and someone would be available then. i called back at 6:30 and another person told me that i would have to call back the following day b/t 12 – 2! really! today’s the next day and it’s safe to say that i still haven’t received a call back. on top of this, it turns out that they have a new cook in the kitchen fresh out of cooking school.

bottom line: don’t waste your money. there is no quality control, no respect for repeat customers, or a loyalty to put their customers first! and if they are always going through staff, then they have no loyalty to their employee’s either!

everything is wonderful . thai iced tea is perfect. pad thai is just right. tom yum and tom kha gai are wonderful. i love the beef massaman curry and the green curry with chicken. quiet modern ambience. very kind and attentive service.

totally awful. went in for lunch based on a friend's recommendation. it took half an hour to get a table for two, and then we sat for another ten minutes before our server brandy came by to take our order. when she did manage to acknowledge our presence she was abrupt and rude, not even smiling when greeting the table. i ordered a thai iced tea and it took a good five minutes to recieve. at that point she asked us "what we wanted" and took our order as though it were a chore. when our food finally arrived it was luke warm as though it had been sitting for a while. my friend and i would have said something but at that point we had already been in the restaurant for over an hour and just wanted to eat and leave. the food was bland except for the strong taste of red pepper. to top it all off the table was sticky. we noticed another table getting wiped down with a really disgusting rag and lost all appetite. we flagged our waitress down and asked for the bill. the only part of our experience to come in a timely manner was the check, and it was obvious we were expected to pay and vacate the table. horrible service, food and atmosphere. i checked the health department score online afterwards and discovered the place has a c rating. disgusting. will never go near this place again.

terrible food. i must admit, this was the worst thai food i have ever had. yuck!! just yuck.
the food was stale and cooked only in soy sauce. even the salad was stale. how can someone eat this crap. i don't know.
well if you plan on going here, i will say enjoy their stale and nasty food.

horrible service tonight. came in for a to go order. went home with an item missing and didn't even receive a phone call to let me know (they took my number down for the order). i went back to pick it up and order was still wrong. instead of tending to her friends that visited you at work, maybe the waitress should have paid more attention to their customers.

don't try it. a bunch of elegals work there guatemalas and tast your food before it goes out with same spoon over and over

pathetic service i've ever seen. it took them forever to bring the food. though the taste was average, service and ambience were terrible. don't go for it. worst night for me.

horrendous service. went during our lunch hour. we were seated quickly but did not get our food after waiting 45 min. needless to say, we were hungry. we left the restaurant, placed a phone order to best thai, and our food was ready within 10 min.

the supervisor tried to explain that the waiter was relatively new and was waiting for the "table" to be released from the system before submitting our order. bad service is bad service.

came in on a thursday night and never was waited on while being seated at a table for more than 15mins.

waited 20 minutes for a waiter who was casually walking by and asked if i have been served, i said no. people who came after me were getting served. no one asked for a food order either until i started looking into space. i asked a guy if he could take my order and he just ignored me. finally a young lady took my order. the food took longer than expected to come out. after that, getting the bill was like pulling teeth. i love the food but i would hope the servers will be more attentive to all there guests.
