the latest incarnation of blackstone is by far the best yet, and the quality of the food under their current chef is fantastic, and pretty much faultless.
in fact, the food is so good, it highlights some other aspects of the dining experience which need improvement: the service could be a little more attentive (water should be brought to the table as a matter of course), and they should really have a few (local) beers on tap. the wine menu could also stand to be a bit more adventurous too.
as it stands though, the food is easily as good as anything you'd get over the hill in dunedin, and blackstone is a fantastic asset for mosgiel.
