great resturant! abit squashy buy atmosphere was nice despite all you being able to hear everybodys conversation. would be nice for more space and less tables. entre' size meals are satisfying and main meals are more than enough. we had a japanese waitress that was in the ball. highly recommended.

it doesn't have the lavish décor of sake, but the restaurant’s humble existence somehow make it unique and appealing. we took a while to decide on what to have for dinner as every item on the menu sounded delicious.

went here on saturday night. made a last minute booking. we found the service excellent. we ordered the $58 set menu. it was such good quality and each item came out straight after the other. excellent fresh sashimi and the scallops were to die for. we were so full we had to share the green tea ice-cream. will be going back to try some other items. the service was amazing not sure why people mentioned bad service in their reviews.

kawaii. bishamon is the sweetest little japanese restaurant. set in a very vulnerable spring hill location, this place is a shining light on a dark boundary street night. the agedashi tofu & miso eggplant are scrumptious !!

we had the pork katsu set and the chicken nanban set. both were good size. sushi was average. service was timely and polite. would go back there but there's lots similar if not better near where we live. there were lots of locals there, showing they have lots of fans.

i’m sure the food here is delicious but customer service here is terrible. we didn’t make a reservation, and the place was pack instead of apologizing the lady at the counter just cut me off while i was speaking and said it was full house twice. she was not apologetic or polite at all as we did drive all the way to try it.

great japanese - go for the food not the ambience -crowded noisy and a bit grimy but great food and buzz. better than average japanese not that food meets art sashimi style or theatrical teppan tricks but solid good quality food.

came on a wednesday evening and it wasn’t super busy but have heard good things abt their all you can eat wagyu beef hotpot for $35.5/pp and it did not disappoint. they prepared a piping hot cast iron skillet and prepared the first batch of sukiyaki for us and it was delicious. a bit too salty for me but we could add water to the right taste! the waygu wasn’t the best i’ve had but surely good quality for a buffet setting. def worth going if you are feeling hungry and love beef !!

this place is something special. unpretentious, genuine hearty food. although the restaurant is not particularly decorated in a japanese style, the service makes you feel like you are in a family home eating a home cooked meal. i would highly recommend for lunch. however i do not like if much for dinner - the menu and style of the restaurant changes.

one of the best japanese restaurants in brisbane - excellent range of dishes, all delicious. the eggplant with miso is particularly delicious. it's not expensive either & in groovy location. i think they could do a little more with tables & chairs - they're a bit plastic & basic, when this place has the potential to feel a tad more special - the menu & the venue would justify it.

good value-delicious food!! i had the chicken n set (number 8 on the current menu). it was delicious and a size that satisfied my food loving appetite. the service was friendly and polite. the restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and clean. the restaurant is very popular at lunchtime during the week.

ordered the sashimi don and niku don. the food is ok but a bit overpriced. i had higher expectation since the rating for this place is high.

i booked bishamon for a friends catch up dinner, purely based on googling ‘teppanyaki brisbane’ and bishamon popped up. their menu online also states they have set teppanyaki menus, however when i called to book, i was told it’s not available. i did mention that their website states it is, so just a warning if you’re planning on going here for teppanyaki!

we were a group of eight and waited probably 20 minutes to even be given menus. it’s a pretty small space with lots of patrons packed in so it does get quite busy. our orders were taken and some items were forgotten (such as a green tea). it was also very difficult to flag down assistance and water refills were near impossible to get. finished dining tables remained uncleared for a long time and our plates were never taken away – something i find quite annoying with restaurants. on a positive note, when we ordered, our meals all came out fairly quickly of each other which i know can be difficult in large groups.

but on to the food. the food was good! i shared the gyoza dumplings and they were really delicious. generously filled dumplings, tasty filling and really nice dipping sauce. i loved them. i then had the soba noodle tempura vegetable and prawn bowl. the tempura pieces came separate from the noodle soup which i appreciated because otherwise they go soggy. the prawns were tasty and the vegetables were also nice and crisp although perhaps lacking a little seasoning. the broth was really delicious and packed full of flavour.

the whole group seemed to enjoy their meals – the menu is quite extensive with lots to choose from. i would say the ambiance isn’t overly great and the service requires a lot of attention, but the food is really good.
