big mario's pizza

great ny-slice pizza. i stumbled into big mario's today on a whim while walking home on pike.

the slices were big and the prices reasonable (though $1.50 for a can of diet coke is a bit much.) i loved that the slices were heated in the oven before being served and that they were on display in a see-through case.

several of the places i've been to so far didn't sell pizza by the slice, and the ones that did were pretty small.

will be back many more times.

may 7th 2015 went there today for lunch not bad needed more places to sit seemed to have a lot of room for the bar but little for family set up so we sat outside. the weather was nice and the people were enjoyable that passed by the restaurant. pizza it was good lots of things to choose from. would go back but not with children.

bit of a shady place, but they make some great pizza at an even better price. these giant slices are under $4 which you won't find anywhere else. if you're a poor student like me, or just someone who loves a good slice of pizza, pay big ol' mario a visit. he won't disappoint.

this place is okay, it's classic ny style pizza but the apathy if he employees and the slightly below average slices keeps it from being tops on my list. big mario's wins for convenience during a night out on capitol hill, but there is some exceptional pizza in seattle that this place can't touch.

best pizza in seattle. as far as i'm concerned, this is the best pizza in seattle. i mean, there's a reason people are willing to wait in a line that stretches down the street to get a slice at 2am.

the slice is nice. l-o- v-e-d my slice! however next time i think i'll take it to go like the other folks i saw .
the music was a little loud and made me scarf down my piece of pie just to get away from it. weird, because i don't usually don't have a noise issue. hmmm... that said, maybe if i would have had one of their finest rainier tallboys i may have seen (heard) things differently.

decent pizza. it's not saying much, but this is maybe the best pizzeria i've found in seattle. as a lifelong new yorker, i have no qualms saying that the worst new york pizza is still better than the best seattle pizza, but big mario's, if anyplace, is likely the exception to the rule. service was fast, even for a busy after-bar saturday and the slices are averagely priced. have a few drinks down the street, order cheese slices to go, and eat them on the sidewalk outside - that's what it's all about.

another good pizza stop!. tried big mario's because of an online promotion deal, but it is definitely worth paying full price. they've got your classics and then some fun twists on pizza (i.e. grapes with goat cheese). quirky restaurant that's typical of capitol hill and fun staff working. and the pizza? awesome! it's definitely up there with the top pizza places in seattle! also, they're a good alternative to seattle street meat (aka hot dogs) for late night food after leaving the bars in that area.

a new yorker, a new jerseyite, and a tennessean walk into a pizzeria in seattle. no, it's not the start of a cheesy joke, it's the start of a deliciously cheesy meal.

reminds me (a little) of new york. definitely the closest to ny-style i've had here in seattle, and the front pizza display cases have the ny feel as well. the slices i have weren't quite as good as ny -- a tough too soft and not crisp enough -- but certainly close enough to go for another slice.

i’ve wanted to try big mario’s new york style pizza for awhile; however, it was with some trepidation. why “new york style?” i get that there is a new york “style” of pizza – i grew up there. i

awesome ny-style pizza. this is definitely some of the best ny-style pizza on capitol hill. plus it doesn't hurt that they're still open after closing time (2am) and later on the weekends (4am). my first visit, i started with a simple slice of pepperoni, and it was perfect. just the right mix of cheese and sauce, and the pepperoni don't overwhelm. i'll be back, for sure. but next time, i probably won't be sober. :-)
