benny blancos slice of the bronx

this is our favorite late late late night snack. it's not the best pizza in town. however, it is the best pizza in town that is open late. wander in and order by the slice. the pizza slingers behind the counter are always friendly and will get you chomping on your pizza in no time.

best pizza in denver. big, amazing, ny style slices that will melt your face. they deliver super late and although they are always busy, they are really quick. my favorite way to get it is after the bar, walk-up, and by the slice. one of my favorite places to take visitors from out of town.

they display the pizzas that are fresh out of the oven; but if they have any stale leftovers, they always serve those up, and refuse to serve fresh pizza at any request.  they reheat the leftovers in the oven, and 9 out of ten times end up charring the slices. i've tried them several times because of the convenience, but they've served me up burnt leftovers far too many times.

i've spoke to them before about how they always burn the pizza when reheating, and they say they have no way of controlling the temperature of the oven.  i guess if there's no way of monitoring quality, there's no real point in taking the gamble of eating there again.

oh my my! this is the only pizza i've had in co that can be called ny style. i haven't been back to ny in years so i'm thrilled to find benny blanco's.

pizza was delicious the end of the crust was a but a "rubbery" but aside from that it was dank!!! i had a slice of the green chili pizza, spicy sbd delicious! great price, the dudes aren't too friendly but with "punk/rock/angry music" lol blasting you can't really expect cheesy smiles and pleasant staff, with band stickers all over... i enjoyed it none the less, i'd take that over fake "kindness" authenticity is dope \m/ i'll be back :)

best ny slice in the city: no bs. the people with negative feedback are actually the primary reason that i love this place.

sure, the pizza is the best ny style slice or pie you can get in the city.. but the fact that they know it and send people who don't respect that packing makes me love it.

i have been enjoying this place for 10 years. i have probably eaten 100 pies in that time. they have never treated me badly or been unreasonably late on delivery. in my experience, the people who receive bad service seem to have earned it somehow.

expect more than pizza? gtfo.
disrespect us? gtfo.

my kind of place

one of two places in denver that serve a high quality slice of new york style cheese pizza.. benny blanca and marquis pizza are the best ingredient pizza in denver.. both have horrible service.. but pizza new york style is about walking and eating a slice of pizza!!!

i'd like to start this review by saying that i am not "punk" or "alternative. i look fairly "normal." this block of 13th is not for cute suburban couple or families with 2.5 kids (unless those kids have mohawks). the guys who work at benny's aren't gonna blow smoke up your ass and perkily ask for your order. they're guys who you can believe actually grew up in the bronx. i've been treated with nothing but courtesy when i've gotten pizza from here because i've been courteous in return. yes, there's no seating. yes, parking is tricky. but this is a hole in the wall in a city neighborhood. if you want great pizza, you'll suck it up and deal. and this pizza is great. i'm a recent east coasr transplant, and it's been very hard finding genuinely good, simple pizza. i've found it at benny's. the slices are huge (about a foot long and about 7" wide at the crust) and cheap: a cheese will cost you $2, and toppings are 50 cents each. they deliver until 3am, which means they know they're target demographics: drunks and bar hoppers. if you don't require ambiance and wait staff who will make you feel like "part of the family," then definitely hit up benny's.

good pizza, mean people.. i like their pizza. the people that work there aren't the nicest. that might be because they deal with drunk people all day and night. they might be drunk themselves though. like i said, the pizza is good...

what a bunch a horrible people. while benny blanco's has a pretty good slice of pizza, you leave wondering who manages the place. the employees are rude, foul mouth people with no respect for their job or the people they serve. instead of leaving with the delicious taste of pizza, you'll find yourself leaving with the taste of disgust.

a little chunk of nyc. i gotta say that i've only been here once. this is not a family kinda place. it's what i think would be classified as a "hole in the wall". no place to sit, basically a order and take away place adorned with stickers of bands and opinions of sexuality and whatever else they might have stuck up on the wall/windows since writing this. the pizza was amazing!! not "colorado style" like beau jos. this is new york styled pizza served in a gritty new york kinda way. if you wanna grab a slice in a very non suburban sortta way check this place out. you won't be disappointed...maybe. (remember i've only been here once).

save your money. a dirty dump. no parking. crust tasted like crackers. pizza tasted very salty

as much as i like the food, i will never order from bbb again. after 3 botched delivery orders, i was not compensated as i was promised. bad business practices will make this joint go under!

the food is great.... all of it. sandwiches, salads, and the sausage jalapeño pizza is where it's at. the ass holes that work there make it that much more authentic.
