love going to bennett's. food is always great! the martini menu is great as well. staff is fun and friendly. love the new mini remodel. will continue coming back!

try the st. paul stacker. it's like a sanwich i get in pittsburgh at hienz field and oakland. similiar to pirmanti bros.

disappointed : /. we had driven over to st. paul on mother's day for a nice dinner, and sadly one of our all time favorite restaurants was full. we had read some decent reviews of bennett's c&rh as a "neighborhood gem" so we opted to try it and got there at 5:45 or so. we arrived, got seated in a quiet booth which was nice and our beverage order taken. that is the last really good thing i can say about bennett's, due to the service, other than my filet with bearnaise was very good when it finally got to our table -- that will be the only nice thing i will say about our experience there. it took at least 45minutes to get our appetizers. meanwhile, we were not offered our salads or bread in the meantime waiting for our apps to arrive, and they were decent fortunately but not great. then it took longer to get our entrees and more beverages and the service was slow, and not attentive to our table at all. even after waiting a very long time for our food for which our waitress apologized ( i felt sort of sorry for her), we were offered no comps at all after having waited over 45 minutes to get a morsel of food -- that is where they went way wrong imo. no management came over and comped a drink, a coffee or a dessert -- bad, bad, customer service and why these kinds of reviews get written. if i had been that waitress, i would have taken it out of my tips to provide a few small comps. if they had done that, this review would not have been written and we might have given this place a 2nd chance. we go over to that neighborhood a lot for other restaurants but we will not be returning to this "neighborhood gem" not because the food doesn't deserve a 2nd chance but because the service and the management does not. they don't know how to do it right - sorry and it showed.

the place where penguin fans gather. great "p" bro's sandwich knock-off! a "neighborhood" bar with friendly service and great food having an intimate feel. try it and you will like it.

very decent place for lunch in the twin cities area. been there for lunch with a friend on the new year's eve, homely place with friendly service.
had chicken wings , dry rub and chicken sandwich with fries. chicken wings were tasty and sandwich was delicious. definitely will go again.

1st time dinning. i friend suggested we meet here for lunch. we had a wonderful experience! food great and excellent service. the outside appearance is not great but inside was really great. white linens on the tables and attentive wait staff.

i would not reccomened this place at all. checking out the menu online suggested this place was a higher end restaurant based off of menu items and prices. with no knowledge of what this place was when we came to it we weren't sure if we were at the right place. it's pretty much a bar with a fancy restaurant menu. i went with my husband at around 10pm for dinner and the only good thing about the place was the service and the drink menu. staff were really friendly and attentive. but if you are going here for a good meal i'd choose somewhere else. my husband had the tomahawk ribeye and i had the seafood risotto. the ribeye was decent but definitely was not worth the price. the vegatable sides and bake potato were mediocre. vegtables had no flavor besides the excess salt. the potato was super dry and the "loaded" toppings barely were enough to get through how dry it was. the seafood risotto was terrible. all i could taste was seafood flavor. no individual flavor of the lobster, shrimp or scallops. the rice part of the risotto was like mush. by far one of the worst meals i've ever had anywhere. the only decent part was the crab cake.

fantastic food, great service and unreal value. they even have a free shuttle to all xcel energy center concerts and the minnesota wild games. try the bloody mary!

this place is a hidden gem in all honesty - it may not look fancy inside or outside from an appearance perspective, but it sure is better than a lot of gastropub places i have been to. it's also a great stop if you're brewing beer at vine park across the street. the service tonight was fantastic - we had the 'big ben' (a delightful, yet more glamorized big mac), and the 'sticky burger' (the peanut butter on the bun caught my attention in a good way). try this place out if you're in the area - we truly enjoyed it.

friday fish special. made reservations which were ready for us upon arrival. evidently first day of their fish special, very busy. if your are going to visit with friends or family maybe choose a different night than friday, place was packed and you couldn't hear yourself think more or less visit. server was very polite, 6 in our party and 5 ordered fish special, all you could eat. food was very slow coming to table and when we wanted more fish they brought 3 pieces for 5 people. as we were getting ready to check out server said they were not taking any more orders for fish specials, as they were running out of fish. considering the amount of patrons and all purchasing fish special i would of thought this fish would be out of this world, not the case. nothing special but i will say it did not come swimming in oil on the plate. he high hopes but left disappointed.

don't think i'll go back. it wasn't completely terrible or anything, just very mediocre and expensive. weak watered down drinks, the wings were very boring and are not worth the price. i got the "tender tips" appetizer and thought it would be some type of marinated beef medallions, but it was just pretty much tough beef stew meat cubes with diced tomatoes on top. i went there because of the free shuttle to the wild game. almost had to get a cab back to bennetts from the xcel center after the game because the shuttle was so late to pick us up. sure the free shuttle is nice but i think i'll find somewhere else next time. if i'm spending $75 on food and drinks to ride your free shuttle, the food and drink should be a little bit better quality.

do not go here. dirty bathroom w sticky floor. tap beer had no bubbles. food was appallingly bad. i mean, really really bad. gross in fact. do not go here. this clown has no business calling this place a restaurant.

terrible bar. they were closed at 11:00pm on a wednesday night... the owners stared at us through a window and mocked us as we walked away. worst bar i've ever not been able to go to.

best service around. i suggested bennett's to two friends who live nearby and had never been there. we waited a while to have our drink orders taken due to the place filling up fast. ben, the barkeep, jumped into service and truly was a fantastic waiter. the food was excellent and we felt we got special treatment, but you could tell this man was taking good care of everyone. often one is ignored and the genuine warmth is totally absent in a lot of restaurants. ben @ bennett's, excellent service is your middle name. whoever is in the kitchen, kudos to you too. we will be back.

drinks anyone. i was out with the hubby & friends. we had already eaten lunch, but i had a $25 gift certificate for bennett's, so we decided to stop and just have a couple drinks. we "bellied" up to the bar and although we had craft beer at our last stop, i was over it. i had no idea what to order, so i told the bar tender, matt, to make me his specialty. he made me his incredible martini. score! i tend to stay away from martinis as they usually are over powering. but this was smooth, sweet and delicious (raseberry, i believe)! round 2, i told him that i was still in his hands and he came back with a watermelon martini. yum!!! my friend tried it and promptly ordered one for herself. round 3, i am still in matt's hands. he sets something that is not a martini in front of me. it is blue and he refuses to tell me what it is. whatever it was, it was very good!!! mad props to my man, matt the bartender. you are a master at your craft. kudos to you dude!
