we usually meet friends in the city for dinner around the holidays. barclay’s always make the top of list. we have been here a handful of times and will always come back for the aged steaks, the swanky ambiance and pleasant service...oh and the pop overs!

when you are done shopping or spending time in the park skip parc and try barclay prime. the best place in the city to sit back, relax, have a drink, and something light to nibble on. quiet and great for conversation.

if your thinking dinner, you’ll need a reservation. not inexpensive but worthy the price. dress appropriately.

this place is definitely one of steven starr's best.  everything is to die for and the service is on point.  they start you off with their fresh, warm pop overs that melt in your mouth.  their wagyu sliders are a great small entree (if you're not a big steak eater like me), buuuut once your steak comes out it's delicious and the best part (in my opinion) is when they bring out a collection of steak knives for you to choose which knife you want to cut your steak with.  highly recommended, and very interesting but welcoming ambiance.

if you want to have the most decadent meal of your life, this is the place. the service is impeccable, the drinks are delish, and the food is literally some of the best you'll ever have. i recommend the steak tartare, wedge salad, prime filet, and truffle mac and cheese. you will not be disappointed. i walked away with a much lighter wallet, but have zero regrets about it. it's worth every dollar and every calorie. best meal ever.

this is for a series of posts for stephen starr restaurants including: alma de cuba , barclay prime, butcher and singer , continental midtown & martini bar , the dandelion , el vez , jones , parc , pizzeria stella , route 6 [1] , route 6 [2] , & square burger . a few weeks back, the gf and i were in the mood for steak and more importantly, we were looking to celebrate our 4th anniversary together. so, we thought it was high time that we finally tried barclay prime . so we hopped in an uber and rode over to the rittenhouse area. starr restaurants are always spot on in terms of vibe and design. expect no less from barclay prime , which is highly emblematic of the mad men era. power lunches and expense account meals are to be enjoyed here. seating is extremely comfortable - you feel as though you're lounging and that's not a bad thing! ophelia's fizz [$15] ketel one orange vodka, prosecco, muddled strawberry & basil      we had some bubbly back at home and considering the markups, we opted for a few cocktails for dinner in lieu of a bottle of vino. the gf went with the effervescent vodka sparkler, which was perfect for her. not cloyingly sweet with the muddled strawberry, the herbaceousness of the basil really shined through each sip.  the stamford bridge [$16]

we took an impromptu trip to philadelphia this weekend and the mr had us make a b-line for barclay prime . i had completely forgotten about it, but he saw their philly cheesesteak featured on a tv show at some point and it had seared itself into his memory. we had a late-ish breakfast and therefore skipped lunch so we arrived 30 minutes before they opened for the evening. we headed down the block to have some cocktails and oysters at devon seafood grille while we patiently waited for 5 o'clock to hit. finally, it was time and we eagerly headed back to barclay prime. we were led into the dining room which was a really fun mix of super modern yet also retro 60s library glam. we ordered a couple of cocktails and then our server brought us some popovers. this was the mr's first time having popovers and while i had had popovers before, they were nothing like this. they were pure magic which made it hard to say no to a second round, but we had to in order to save roo

sub-prime if eating alone. don't plan to show up if you are looking for a table for one. made reservations and asked for a quiet table. arrived at the appointed hour and was shown a table in the bar right in front of the main entrance. great now everyone coming and going can stumble over me. thanks but no thanks barkley prime, 19 year old hostes just don't have a clue. a mature idea with imature first impressions. i won't be back.....

joe had lost a bet with me and i had my pick of philly restaurants and chose barclay prime steakhouse since i’ve never been. we were seated in a gorgeous dining area, very modern vibe to it.  as joe and i poured over the menu, they brought out these pop-overs with gruyere cheese in the middle. amazing! i ended up getting 2! lobster bisque i saw lobster bisque on the menu and had to order it. the lobster bisque was good, but not great. the restaurant was very nice and split our order into 2 bowls so that we would have an easier time eating. wagyu sliders the wagyu steak on the menu was over $100 so to experience the wagyu beef, we got an order of the sliders. the sliders were amazing, tender and juicy. ribeye joe ordered the 18 oz gachot & gachot prime dry aged ribeye. joe likes his steak medium-rare. he thoroughly enjoyed his rib-eye. truffle mac and cheese we got the side order of truffle mac and cheese. i had really high expectat

the best steak this city had to offer, but you'll pay for it. excellent.

extraordinary. we ate a superb meal mid july. everything from the the first fresh vodka gimlet to the end of the evening dessert was fabulous. the service was impeccable. the apps, lobsters, kobe beef, marble potatos etc..were all beautifully prepared and presented. an evening here is not for the faint of heart and will hit your credit card hard. it is a wonderful place for a celebration! looking forward to the next opportunity to be in phl and to enjoy a meal here!

amazing!. the concierge at our hotel was able to get us reservations last minute on a saturday night and told us that this was his favorite restaurant in the city. he wasn't kidding! this place is amazing. i fear that i have become somewhat of a restaurant snob in recent years and this place was able to exceed even my high expectations. from the moment we walked in the door every staff member greeted us and was very friendly. our server was one of the best i have ever had. he was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and was able to make some fantastic recommendations. being presented with the choice of knives before dinner was a nice touch. the food itself was among the best that i have ever tasted. this restaurant is the whole package: service, atmosphere, quality food, and a certain je ne sais quoi. for me, the waiter asking if he could hail us a cab after we were finished with dinner was the highlight. this place knows good food and good service!

been to b. p. 3 times in a year and man i really love this place. what a treat. my filet mignon was perfect each time and flavor was terrific. mashed potatoes are excellent along w/ the largest yet succulent shrimp i've had. oh yea the hot deep dish chocolate chip cookies w/ vanilla ice cream is soo damn good. pricey- yes but worth the treat

ahhhh-mazing!!. this place absolutely lived up to the "hype." from start to finish- our evening here was perfect. even from the woman who took our reservation (logan)... our waitress (erin) was exceptional. she told us she's been working there for 6 years- so knowledgeable and willing to answer our questions in a very down to earth way. the food was just delicious. i don't know if i can put it in to words- just the greatest! we will for sure be back!!

well worth the money! the steaks literally melt in your mouth. the service is fantastic! drinks are great! nice selection of steak knives.... if you call ahead, they will make you a kobe beef cheesesteak (not on the menu) that us to die for!!!
