upon arrival to the restaurant, this being our first time, we were quite impressed with the cleanliness, the decor and beautifully airconned room which was much appreciated in the scorching heat of february. the conveyer belt set up looked unique and comfortable to sit and we're quite pleased with this. the restaurant was dead quiet and we were in fact the only table of 3 at the restaurant. there were about 7 waiters and waitresses and one floor manager or seemed. so plenty help at hand if needed...we ordered a bottle of wine and 3 sake shooters to start the night. our waitress took our order and we sat and chatted and waited, this order took 15 minutes to arrive, upon arrival she had bought us 2 glasses and 2 shooters, strange because there were 3 of us and i specifically said 3 shooters and 3 glasses for the bottle of wine...after telling her we needed the extra shooter and wine glass, i watched the clueless waitress go off and ask some one to get the extra glass and shooter, i'm sure she could've done it her self seeing as the glasses and sake were no more than a foot away from her...she then went and waited at the pos system and we waited roughly 10 minutes before i called the manager to tell him what had happened, he only said sorry and would be sorted it. fair enough...when the clueless waitress returned she had no bought 3 extra wine glasses and 3 extra shooters, we only needed 1 glass and one shooter...this mistake i'm sure could've been avoided by her doing it herself instead of asking the other waiter/barman, not really sure what he was, to do it. then we asked for extra mayo for our sushi, the waitress asked us what mayo and we said qp mayo as that is the common and best mayo for sushi in rsa, she bought us some other snot coloured sweet excuse for mayo and thus we decided to leave...we asked for the bill and to cancel our orders. the bill apparently comes with a 10%service charge already included in your bill, we received absolutely horrendous, mindless, clueless service and now are forced to pay the charge. the bill came with now, 5 sakes charged instead of 3, and no one seemed to ask us why we were going to leave...we drove 92 kms to come to bamboo sushi lounge. what a waste of petrol, my time and money...you get better service at a home affairs branch, at least there you know the employees hate their jobs and don't give a shit, at a restaurant you'd assume they're there to provide a service and be happy to provide it, guessing the 10% service charge means they can give you any level of service and you'll have to pay anyway...never again
