the menu at atwater's does change daily, so definitely sneak a peek at it before you go (if it's available online) to check out what options are available. when available, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are noted. i've included in this review snapshots of gluten-free, vegan, or gluten-free vegan options from the menu the day i went.
i opted for a bowl of the vegan gazpacho, minus croutons on top. the soup was a delicious blend of veggies, in a tomato-based broth.

if you haven’t been to the market, you should stop in – there are tons of gourmet shops and a lot of local flare.   the square itself also has lots of stops like greg’s bagels , shoofly diner  and grand cru . i often stop in the belvedere market in north baltimore to grab a few bags of counter culture coffee.  my favorite part is that they give you a complimentary cup when you buy a pound.  they have a bunch of fantastic small batch choices right now. i am currently drinking olke birre – a variety of beans from small farmer in ethiopia with flavors of lemonade, peach, and tangerine – might sound weird, but it is wildly smooth. on this rainy day, i had run out of yogurt and needed a quick breakfast; i grabbed a muffin from the bakery.  they had a ton of choices – i wanted the sweet scone, the savory scone, each of the muffins and a few of the croissants.  i ended up with one of their lemon spiced muffins.  i found it slightly dry and crumbl

great food!!. my brother, mother, and i have eaten there 2x this week. the crab and shrimp soup was to die for!! everything is made daily from fresh local ingredients. this is the perfect place for a quick bite to eat or a lunch date! i'm so pleased that i am able to support a well-deserved, local business.

my friend's girlfriend used to work for these guys and bring home any day-old, leftover bread. despite this bread not 'being fresh'... it was amazing. artisan bread that just sets the bar, time and time again. i got eat their beef and barley soup--scrumptious, savory, and hearty! the rosemary italian bread? delicious with almost any conceivable sandwich. if you didn't get the memo: eat atwater's!

atwater's is a tad pricey but the atmosphere makes you feel like you are hip and high class. the salads and soup are top notch. i also suggest the lemonade, its the best i've ever had.

a desitnation spot!. real food, real people, real value. if you don't get what's going on here... you must like food from chain restaurants. this is the real deal. they do things the old fashioned way. it's not the most inexpensive option in town, but we need more restaurants and places like this. authentic. a destination spot where i bring visitors from out of town.

today, we went to atwater's, in belvedere square market. their angle is freshly-made food from mostly local farms. the stuff that isn't local is still direct from the farm. you can view their sources by clicking here . they specialize in sandwiches and so

farm to fork. delcious, fresh ingredients, mostly from local farms.... had an egg, cheddar and bacon sandwich which was delicious! friends got seafood soup and watercress/potato soup, which i tasted, and while both were very good, the shrimp/crab/fennel/more stuff soup was the winner!

big price - little sandwich. i had a turkey sandwich at atwater's today and it was about half the size of what most other restaurants server. this cost $9.75. if you like to take tiny little bites from a sandwich slightly larger than a playing card, then this is for you. i guess it is reassuring to know that it was whole grain bread.

i recommend swallow at the hollow within (walking distance) at northern parkway and york road. a little more ambiance and a lot better food.

holy toledo. went here with my mom and godmother for lunch and we had the delmarva chowder. amazing broth, amazing vegetable content (okra!) and amazing seafood. i highly recommend. even better... we heard you can get soup and such from atwater's and take it over to grand cru to eat! that would have been a good idea as the market was very hectic and grand cru was empty. live and learn.
