parts of it was good...gumbo, potatoes soufflé, turtle soup...but was not overly impressed for the price. i'd rather try somewhere else. plus, it may have been just that night or that there were 9 of us, but the service was exceptionally slow. it took us over 3 hours to eat and get our bill!

hurt. had dinner at arnaud's tonight. left with tears in my eyes. taste of food was excellent. service was very good except i had to use a butter knife to cut my steak. i left hurt because the three piece jazz band ignored us. the band went around the room playing at different tables. some tables had the pleasure of their personal table performance twice. where as they did not come to our table once. i guess we were invisible. our bill was $417.00. very disappointed and hurt.

dinner. my husband and i had dinner at arnauds on may 19. we were part of a group of about 20. reservations had been made and we were given 2 choices of entree.........beef or fish. several of us had the fish. it was so tough i could not even saw off a bite. other diners had the same complaint. very disappointed as we had been looking forward to having a wonderful dinner at arnauds.

hoity toity @sshats. the story begins with us having a wonderful time in nola (great people ambiance and music) after a tiring day in the sun and at jazzfest we had a reservation here. any way the linen and panama hat wearing snobs got to us. we were greeted by a harsh welcome by the serving staff. if they are preaching what they are selling where was the maitre d. long story short we were denied. screw them. who wants to eat with a bunch of stuffed shirts anyway. we are in nola for crying out loud. leave that to the prim and propers of charleston god bless their hearts.

we sat on the jazz side and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. shrimp arnauds and the potato souffle were incredible. the captain did a special strawberries "foster " for us which was also incredible! definitely will return next time we are back in nola!

they had some great cocktails and drinks. have a small ledge where you can sit on the 1st floor overlooking the happening street.

in 1918, a colorful, french wine salesman named arnaud cazenave opened the grand new orleans restaurant that bears his name with a commitment to serving quality creole cuisine. arnaud believed, quite simply, that the pursuit of the pleasures of the table is as worthy as anything else one chooses to pursue in life.

the service was top notch. loved the turtle soup. just the right amount of spice. our table shared the oysters arnaud as well as the soufflé potatoes and they were equally good.

while the food is unique and full of flavor the multi unit wait staff that takes care of you and your dinner party is sub par at best. in my personal opinion i believe they group a strong server with a mediocre and weak server. unfortunately this will more than likely be my last visit.

delicious baked oyster appetizer and duck and oyster gumbo! nice music and incredible ambiance... service was good but a bit sexist which i am sure they consider chivalry but it's 2017!!!

excellent service and wonderful ambiance. the dining room was crowded but not noisy.

each course arrives well within an expected time and is very professionally served.

the actual food doesn't match the service or ambiance. everything we had was good as in not bad. however, at $100 a person without alcohol "good" and or "ok" isn't enough.

clearly, arnaud's survives on its reputation and impeccable service. i'm sure that at one time the "good" food was great in comparison to the competition. however, the "parade" had passed by and arnaud's should explore fresh ideas.

there are too many options in new orleans to spend the same money or less and come out with a "wow" rather than an ok.

commander's, emeril's, and most of the brennan restaurants comes to mind with respect to excellent service and great tasting food.

we had appetizers, soups, vegetables, entrees and dessert and nothing stood out in any way that would warrant a recommendation or a return.

first up in my series of new orleans in 18 eats is the french quarter’s 98 year old grande dame of creole cuisine: arnaud’s. a quick note before we dig in …. to be sure, i had clear favourite meals during last visit to new orleans, but everywhere i ate presented food at an exceptionally high standard. so, i’m chronicling my 18 eats in alphabetical order, thus putting arnaud’s with an “a” at the top of my list.

midwest foodie: old school new orleans done right. we went here for a special occasion; this isn’t the usual level of restaurant that we frequent. the food was tasty and very well done. only reason it doesn’t get a 10 is because i got tricked! not really, just ordered a crab puff pastry that came out with a little face that made me feel like the 5-year-old at the table (check picture below). tasted great though! the speckled trout and shrimp arnaud were done magnificently as well. anyway, arnaud’s does a great job. i had high expectations going in and they were mostly fulfilled. if you have the money or are looking for a special quintessential new orleans dinner, this should be on your short list. two thumbs up.
