excellent service and wonderful ambiance. the dining room was crowded but not noisy.
each course arrives well within an expected time and is very professionally served.
the actual food doesn't match the service or ambiance. everything we had was good as in not bad. however, at $100 a person without alcohol "good" and or "ok" isn't enough.
clearly, arnaud's survives on its reputation and impeccable service. i'm sure that at one time the "good" food was great in comparison to the competition. however, the "parade" had passed by and arnaud's should explore fresh ideas.
there are too many options in new orleans to spend the same money or less and come out with a "wow" rather than an ok.
commander's, emeril's, and most of the brennan restaurants comes to mind with respect to excellent service and great tasting food.
we had appetizers, soups, vegetables, entrees and dessert and nothing stood out in any way that would warrant a recommendation or a return.
