old menu. things are a little dated i will say, but great view and great service. expect to pay for the view not the food.

good food - service inconsistent. this is a great location right on the bay on top of the grand hyatt. i have stayed at this hotel several times and eaten at the restaraunt 3 times. the two times, i was sitting at a table with several hyatt gold passport diamond members. the service was great. the anitpasta plates were huge. i raved about it to friends and took them. the antipasta plates combined would have made one of the antpasta plates we were offered before and were mostly vegetable dishes. the lobster soup had an alcohol in it as you would expect of a bisque with sherry. however the alcohol used had a sharp bitter bite and was unpleasant when combined according to the two that had ordered it killing the effort of the presenation of the lobster claw meat at the bottom of the bowl with the carafes of soup poured over the top (luke warm at best). the salmon was dried out on the outside and under cooked inside. the service would disappear for 30 minutes at a time. i had a discussion with the concierge the next day that the management wil remember. if i go back, it will be with the attention of the management to be sure this is an isolated incident. there are far too many good choices in the bay area to have this experience twice.

friday night. visited last night for the first time with another canadian couple. we all decided to try the veal scallapini, it was excellent. the ladies had the ceasar salad for starters and the guys had the spinach salad, both salads were very good. the restuarant is located on the top floor of the hyatt regency near the tampa airport, the view from the outside observation deck is stunning, on one side the beaches of clearwater, on the other the downtown tampa skyline, sunset was spectacular. prices were reasonable for this restuarant which i would class as upscale, dress code is in effect so dress accordingly. defintely on our list of places return to.

over the top dining. this is by far the most expensive palce i have eaten at. my sister graduated from ut and got a gift cert. from her professer for $250. so the family booked a reservation and went for an memorable expirence. the entrees are very pricey and add a bottle of wine to that . the bill can easly exceed $200 for a couple. the food was impeckable as well as the service. i had the duck which was delightful. we had creme brule for dessert. it was to die for. the bill for five exceeded $500 inc tip. this is a very nice place to go to for a special occasion.

we went therelast week for a romantic dinner aswe had always heard the food and atmosphere were amazing, unfortunately our experience was not as we expected. were greeted by a maître'd that seemed somehow inconvienced by seating us, then our waiter did not know the menu when we had questions. once our food arrived, it was overcooked and had to be returned. then the waiter asked to bring the bill, but we wanted dessert and we asked for the menu, but were instead given 2 desserts. i asked to see the menu, but the waiter said "if you don't like them, i'll bring you something else". overall our experience was lacking. i'm not sure that i will go back anytime soon.

excellent and creative fine dining in tampa. armani's restaurant is one of those rare combinations in tampa: a fabulous view, a young talented chef, creative ingredients, and an atmosphere that can make every guest feel special. it's hard to be a regular because it is pricey, but it is perfect for dates and other special nights. the food is very contemporary and has a northern italian theme.

cool and classy!. armani's location and view are exceptional. don't miss the antipasto bar or their signature veal scallopini. i have been there 5 times and never had a bad meal. it is pricey. sometimes my wife and i go to the bar area and have antipasto/ appetizers, some drinks and share a dessert. super place to impress someone or go for a special occasion.
