archie's mexican

mexican surprise. we decided to eat out and began a random drive. driving from seatac, burien cuisine dominated our conversation. we were driving north on first avenue south when we saw a sign for a mexican restaurant "archie's". mexican food sounded great! we stopped and what a surprise. the food was fantastic! i had the polo chipotle, wow!!! that was the best mexican dish i had ever tasted and i have ate a lot of mexican food. the serving size was large. i ended up bringing home left overs and they were great too. it is a hot dish but not to hot. the flavor is what really got me, fantastic! we will be going back to archie's soon.

let the staff help archie. this isn't the best mexican food, nor the worst. if anything it's well priced, filling, and inoffensive. but archie, you do too much. she was running around taking orders, seating guests, busing tables, and bringing food. it's not like she didn't have any staff. there was a young man who brought us water and chips. why don't you let him help? if he isn't experienced, train him! have him shadow you instead of waiting in the kitchen doorway to bring chips to the next table of diners.

i think archie could then focus on what a owner then needs to, making the place run tight and efficient. then the food can get more attention and be amazing instead of run-of-the-mexican.

take a break, archie and let the kid give it a try.

archie's great tasting food. i love the flavor of the food at archie's mexican restaurant. i go for happy hour every week, the draft beers are only $2.00. from 3 to 6 pm. they have a good deal for lunch. their lunch special changes everyday so you can taste it all for only $4.99 plus tax it includes a soft drink. i recommend it. delicious food and friendly service. their carne asada is the best.

great experience. i eat lunch & dinner at archie's and the food is fantastic. the staff is very fiendly & polite, always attending to my needs. thank you archie's for being there keep it up!

not vegan, and barely vegetarian. i have not eaten at this restaurant, but wanted to add a note for fellow vegans and vegetarians, that the rice has chicken stock and the refried beans have lard. i have heard that this is a great restaurant, and hope those of you that are not "veggie" will enjoy it.

delicioso!. i am so happy after a delicious dinner! we were surprise to discover our favorite mexican food is back with a new name. these folks used to have a restaraunt down in des moines, and i have never tasted pollo con crema like it since! they have an outstanding salsa, and homemade tortillas that made my husband cry! he had the camerones apretellados, bacon wrapped ooey gooey cheesy prawns, ridiculously good.
the staff is friendly and efficient, same great waiter from years ago, and archie the owner has got it all figured out- great food+great service= happy return customers!!

great neighborhood rest. i have been to archie's several times, and the food and service are always good.
the staff is very friendly, they seem to really enjoy serving you and to appreciate your business.
the food is fresh, and more than a good bargain.
last time i was there, my friend and i had more lunch than we could eat, we had the lunch specials, and the price was just over $10 for the two of us. a great deal.

awesomeness. i love this place. it has only been open since january but i have been at 8-10. when they owned their previous restaurant we went 2-3 times a month. this is the best mexican food around. the owners are great & it has a true family atmosphere. they had one of their old waiters who still remembered how i liked my food & my favorite meal. if that is not true customer service i don't know what is!!
i look forward to many more meals there & to go!

perfect neighborhood restaurant. archie's opened about a month ago, and i've already eaten there three times.

this place has azteca beat in flavor, price and service. the main dining room is on the smaller side, but they have a large full-service bar area, and a place where a larger party (maybe 30 or so?) could sit apart from the rest of the restaurant.

when you are seated at archie's they bring you tortilla chips, salsa, bean dip, and sometimes a cabbage slaw, all of which are delicous. i've tried their chipotle chicken, which was good, and then i tried their molcajete...i'm in love! you get a meal that could easily feed two people, with a huge bowl of hot, spicy, flavorful mexican stew with tortillas and a separate plate of rice, beans and some greens.

i've had their house margarita, which met the bar. i'd love to see them develop something with fresh ingredients as opposed to a margarita mix- but theirs will do just fine for a dinner out with friends.
i also love the way they have decorated the place, bright colors and beautiful murals and paintings. paintings are for sale...i wish i were richer.

overall, the perfect place to come after work with your family or friends, and a great starting point on a friday or saturday night before heading out on the town.
