i and my colleagues had started visiting all the restaurants around rk salai and we visited this place fr dinner few days back. we ordered nandu rasam, tandoori chicken, prawn & mutton briyani, nethili fry, naatu kozhi kulambu, mutton kothu parotta
nandu rasam- thaaru maaru, we loved it
tandoori- was ok, less spicy
mutton briyani- 2 large piece
prawn briyani- spicy paste with prawns
briyani- worst briyani served, tastes like tomato rice
nethili fry- was ok
nattu kozhi kilambi- spicy and delicious
mutuon kothu parotta- believe me, best of all we ordered

had the special meals...the meals came along with chicken chettinad ...,the chicken was spicy and good portion ...the pieces were succulent and well cooked. ordered a country chicken fry, which was good enough for 3 people (not big eaters though). the boneless country chicken was prepared with good spices and was soft with a lovely flavour. overall good ambience, great service and yummy chettinad food. strongly recommend for spicy food lovers

food tastes authentic but not appealing.

now a days there are lot of chettinadu cuisines in the city and i feel they should come out with some new recipes on their menu.

i had always wanted to try this restaurant as every other restaurant at mylapore is vegetarian and very few non veg. this place is not the way i had anticipated. the ambiance is not welcoming at all and the entrance is very difficult to locate. we had to ask two people to guide us upstairs.

as soon as we entered and settled in our seat, a bunch of mosquitoes were around, settling on our table. the a/c was not turned on and the binds were not well maintained. we would see the binds are totally worn out, which indicates its high time to change them. they wanted to make it look like a romantic place by keeping the light dim but i should tell you, it was indeed a flop show.

we had ordered one non veg gravy, biriyani and naan and tandoori chicken for starters. the gravy was all watery and not as per the dish we had ordered. the naan were too thick and cold to put them apart… biriyani was more like kuska rice with less masala or piece. tandoori chicken was nice.

this shock was not sufficient to kill us, the bill was rated super high, inclusive of tax and service charge. what only they served us that they included the service charge? we paid the bill and never again did i go to anjappar.

south indian non veg delicacy at its best! spicy, fiery and extremely mouthwatering chicken dishes along with soft appam or crispy parota makes it a not be be missed affair if you are in chennai. warm staff and decent ambience with a not so heavy dent on pocket are added pleasures! must try: kothu parota!

fud was okaish!!
chicken tikka, kadai, mutton briyani, finger fish nf venilla milkshake is all that we ordered
the chicken tikka was kinda hard...briyani was vry normal..not bad neither gud...milkshake was gud bt i've tasted better else where
we wer the last to vacate the place...the people out there turned off the lights leaving us finish our deserts in dark...yup that was kinda annoying
i would rate
2.5/5 for ambience

seating is better in this place after all we have come to dine in comfort. this place serves authentic chettinadu food. their menu is good. food is very authentic here and they make awesome biryani and gravies, please be cautious when you order sea food and check for the freshness, had a bad experience once. overall good authentic and tasty food, reasonable price.

one of those places i will frequent if am in chennai. the mutton biryani is to die for and they also have the most delicious crabs.. i completely love the food in chennai and anjappar is a big reason for that. surprisingly you can have your meal alone without feeling awkward here coz its the food that takes your complete concentration.

just planned to have quick dinner last thursday late after 10pm out from movie in inox landed in anjapper just ordered tangry kebab and mutton briyanni it came little late bit i was surprised both were so delicious and melting in mouth the briyanni was totaly different from our regular south indian briyanni wich we get from our local shops i was wondering that how they came out with this idea to be diffrent from others because all other fine restaurants also don't want to do it . so its place for a different flavorful briyanni and the kebab was perfect i have been to many outlets of anjapper but this place has best ambiance . service was good . i think this will be in my favorite list
