angry crab shack

ordered a dungeness crab, shrimp, calamari strips, oysters and a few sides to split with a party of 4. awesome, awesome!!! fun experience and fantastic server lauren walked us through the menu and sat down with us to help remove the meat from our large crab for easier eating. the food is fantastic and a nice draft beer selection. this is our first time and will definetly be back. very reasonable prices for delicious fresh seafood. this place is a gem!

great place to get your fingers dirty with seafood!! it’s always fresh, service is good, lots of choices on different seasonings too, always a top pick of mine if i’m looking for seafood

fun place for a date, and easier on the wallet than expected. the food was prepared well. the servers were fun and helpful. the crab was pre-frozen, but this is phoenix. my only issue was that i couldn't have plain drawn butter for my crab, and the cajun spices were a little much. will be going back.

fun atmosphere. casual dining. delicious food. we had fried clams, very good. hush puppies, pretty good. gumbo, excellent. snow crab and shrimp with corn, potato and sausage with the mild trifecta. sooo very excellent. messy. dripping. mouth watering. will be back.

yummy seafood! the trifecta is the best blend but it is super spicy! be prepared to get very dirty... plus the gumbo here is some of the best in mesa

we were in the mood for some good seafood, which is hard to find here in the desert. so i did a web search and came up with this place, "angry crab shack". thought we would give this place a try. all i can say is "we loved it"!! our server larry was amazing attentive, explaining how things worked here, since it was our first visit. the atmosphere is very casual, fun and filled with excitement. we ordered shrimp, spiced at your preference brought to our table in a bag, and snow crab, a red potato and a corn on the cob, also in a bag surrounded by lots of juices, it was delicious! it was messy fun eating it! can't wait to bring our family here! the only negative was the strip mall they are located in is abit old and outdated. other than that i would rate our experience here a "5"!

if you don't like this place, there's something wrong with you. this place is a winner. ambiance: check (loud, fun, rowdy). service: check (everyone is friendly, funny, helpful). food: check, check, check. we've been to the other crab shack many times. no comparison. we started with kajun shrimp to share as an appetizer: crunchy, spicy, and delicious. esposa and i each got a bag o' snow crab, sausage, taters, and corn. omg. not enough superlatives to describe the addictive combination. perfect in every way. overall: stellar. highly recommended. next time we visit the gilbert/mesa area, we'll make sure to stop at acs.

first time there, service was fantastic. everyone is very friendly and fast. food was delicious. be ready to get down and dirty!

not only good, but a lot of fun!. you can smell the seafood from the parking lot. we had a blast eating here! we started off with some oysters with a side of their trifecta sauce. the oysters were great and the sauce was killer spicy (just the way i like it). we ordered the snow crab and crawfish for our entree. this was actually my first crawfish experience and i look forward to many more. the seafood was fresh with a lot of flavor. but even more fun was the experience we had cracking the shells and playing with our food. a great find in mesa that is gaining a lot of popularity by word of mouth.

get what ya came for. let's face it, you come to a crab place for seafood and the add on's are not at important. the other place with a similar name has a bunch of sides tossed in the bucket like crappy corn on the cobb and sausage and cheap potatoes. while not a bad thing you fill up on the extras when you really came for the main event. on top of that they stopped serving oysters. so that brings me to the simplicity of this place ....order by the pound what you really want and sides are available to add on in-expensively. we started with a dozen oysters that were really fresh and tasty. on to a pound of king crab, pound of mussels and a pound of shrimp. we found everything we ordered to be really fresh, well prepared and very tasty. get ready to roll up your sleeves and dig in, everything is brought to the table after perpetration sealed in a plastic bag, post preparation plunked on the paper table covering. only a few minor things to mention, not deal killers, they ran out of dungeness and diet coke of all things. one suggestion to larger checks add the ability to add a half pound when you have ordered a min one lb serving. in any case we will be back as the food and service was excellent.

unique, for this area. hardest items to find in the area? fresh seafood.
this place reminds me of seafood shacks in the gulf region. that being said, many folks don't want to eat off the table with plastic forks.
ordered a lb. of mussels, and a beer while looking at the menu. waiter very nice, explained how to order and made some recommendations.
mussels arrive in a plastic bag with the potatoes and corn we ordered. large, fresh & tasty, seasoned nicely. the nice cold heineken in bottle went perfectly.
we then had a shrimp basket, and soft shell crab basket. shrimp were ok. fries were excellent. crab was good, but of course, pre frozen.
overall, pretty good. family oriented, not much adult atmosphere. i'm coming back though, to try a po'boy to go.

great food, great service. upon entering this restaurant i was a little hesitant about whether i wanted to sit down. the tables showed signs of carnage and i wasn't sure if i was up for what appeared to be a barbaric dinner. my daughter promptly said that it looked like a good time and good food so i went with it. i'm so glad i did.

both she and i ordered snow crab. the food came out quickly and was hot and wonderfully seasoned. our waiter, noel, was fantastic and made the whole experience fun. the prices were reasonable.

if you're looking for a hottie tottie place to enjoy and elegant meal, this isn't the place to go. you are free to write on the walls and booths to mark your visit, there are no plates or silverware, and it is advisable to wear the bib they provide. however, if you like to eat with your hands and have sauce dripping off your chin and elbows, and just want great seafood....this is your spot!
