angie’s mexican restaurant is an example of what makes austin a fantastic foodie experience. they don’t have a website, handwritten specials are posted on a piece of paper to the front door, spicy salsa and thick chips in melamine bowls, decorations are bright colored walls and a blaring tv… but they serve great homemade breakfast tacos which are served all day.

i think most of the previous are dated from their previous locale a few blocks down the street at their smaller place. outstanding food. most mexican restaurants can be judged at the outset by salsa & chips. angies is no different. service is prompt and courteous price is very reasonable.

was highly recommend, did not live up to expectation, food was plain had to add to much salt for taste

absolutely love the pork carnitas tacos in the crispy corn homemade tortillas! angie is great and friendly and the staff is always courteous and helpful. i go there for these as often as my cholesterol test will allow! so good!!!!

the food was pretty average. they have a good happy hour ($5 margaritas) and plenty of parking in their dedicated parking lot. the staff was friendly, but not overly quick. queso was good and the menu is affordable. they also have a handful of seats outside on their patio.

came here during lunch and the parking lot was very busy and i couldn't find a spot. the food wasn't the best but it was decent. our server though wasn't that good. we had to ask her to refill our waters and she didn't ask us how are food was. there are better places to eat mexican food in austin.

abysmal food with no atmosphere. i'll keep this short and sweet; don't go to angie's. ever. every dish was either insipid or reeking of rancid grease, from the basket of tortilla chips to the supposed "signature" homemade corn tortillas. this will give you a clue; i ate only a few bites of my meal (the angie's "special" plate) and as soon as we got home, i took a zantac as a preventative measure.

this place is really sad; it should be hopping on a friday night; instead, there were only two cars in the parking lot when we drove in (note to self, this should have been a clue). my mate was hungry though, and didn't want to drive around to find another place, so we forged ahead and walked in. big mistake........we live in austin, and angie's has the distinction of serving us the worst meal we've eaten since we moved here three years ago. never again.

i would go ahead and skip this one (at least for breakfast). bacon was very under-done, potatoes had no flavor and were not done, and the eggs were slightly under-done, but still tasty. i had the huevos mexicana, and the eggs and beans were pretty tasty, but my plate was not at all worth what i paid for it, considering the bacon and potatoes were both inedible.

i will say that the tortillas, chips, and salsa were good, so maybe their lunch/dinner is better?

we were the customers for breakfast on friday morning. service fast and friendly. huevos rancheros and mexicano good. flour tortillas good. bill was higher than i was expecting.

this place serves the worse "mexican" food i ever tasted. the burnt grease tasting chips would be good if they'd clean the fryer out.. but all they do is deep fry half thier menu. the hot sauce is miserably hot with a hint of roasted pepper taste.. the rice is flavorless .. dry beans.. just overall greasy and flavorless
