angel's soulfood and bbq

great country food. we ate there tonight. we had fried fish and fried chicken. they were delicious and the collards and black eyed peas were as good as mama used to make (i won't tell her that). cornbread, cole slaw and rice & gravy were awesome too. i want to go back and get take out to take to ft. melon park and enjoy some good food and beautiful scenery

all i can say is, "what took me so long to eat here?" my friend tommy and  i had dinner at angel's soulfood and bbq on a recent saturday afternoon and found a real gem: gool ole' down home cooking. no pretention. no fancy tablecloths. just good good food, and plenty of it, at a very reasonable price. i'm hooked--i'll be back again for more, no doubt! angel's is a pretty simple, down home place--neat, clean, fresh, and organized. you walk in and order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. but not worry, they check on you from time to time as well. for my dinner, i had the bbq ribs with mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, and mac and cheese. the ribs? well, they were wonderful! meaty, tender, juicy, a nice bit of fat--and falling off the bone. with a nice, baked in bbq flavor, they were all a nice meaty rib should be: finger lickin' good--and i did a lot of finger lickin!  the mashed potatoes were outstanding--i'd swear my momma was in that kithen making them and the grav

customer. my wife and i ate lunch at angel's soul food and bbq restaurant today. the food was good and freshly prepared.will certainly eat there again.

new sanford location. i have eaten at the new location of sanford ave. and hwy 46 twice now. plenty of room and dine-in seating. the food is good soul food, or as i would say, "home cooking at my grandparent's house back in tennessee good!" the service is warm and friendly. and if the food takes a little while to get to you, well homemade doesn't come quick. going back again today! and again, and again.

prices. your price are to high. veggie plate for $10.00 why to high. i love your food. i'd eat there 3 or 4 times a week if the veggie price lower

favorite spot. i ordered the fried chicken meal came with 3 big pieces rice gravy piece of corn bread and 2 sides of my choice i got macaroni and potatoe salad because the collard greens weren't done everything was amazing the only negative thing i can say was the atmosphere in the place the lady seemed mad i wouldn't sit and eat jus order and leave

i ordered the take out veggie meal that consisted of collard greens, mac and cheese and potato salad. the woman told me on the phone that it also came with rice and gravy and cornbread. when i opened my plate of food, the rice was all over the plate, there was very little gravy, not enough to cover the rice, the macaroni and cheese appeared old dry out and hard and tasted as if it was 3 days old. the potato salad was greasy (how could that be?) and there was no cornbread. the collard greens were delicious. my meal was ruined and i will never, never, ever buy anything from these people again. i wanted soul food not old food. angel's either get it together or close your doors. i want my $8.95 back..

racist staff. if you are not the same color as the staff you will be ignored. can't comment on the food because we waited so long to be served. they were not busy so it was obvious that the lady just waited for us to give up & leave. sad. :(

fried chicken is the star- good stuff. the fried chicken is great. mac & cheese was good. collards were pretty good. mashed potatoes/gravy tastes kinda like kfc (good, if you like kfc mashed potatoes). as most people have said, the fried chicken is enough to make me go back. as far as service, it's kinda slow. the staff not being friendly and welcoming is why i am giving them a 4 versus a 5. i would suggest calling ahead for to-go orders due to the long wait.

chicken dinner. i've eaten from this restaurant before and the food was just as good as my grandmother's or my cooking. so i like to i order from here when i don't feel like cooking. on today 04/26/14 (sat)at about 7:30pm my husband went in to order a chicken dinner as the phone number kept being busy. he said he ordered 2 wings & 1 breast at first for me then changed it to 3 wings. he brought the order home & when i looked at the chicken it looked old & re-fried. one of the wings looked better than the other two. i bit into one of the wings, it tasted sour like a spoiled taste. i bit into another one it taste the same way. by the way i tossed those two. the third one was ok and didn't taste spoiled. i make way better wings at home. they weren't crunchy or tasty. just tasted old. i had mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, & collard greens. like i said their food is usually good but this time was not anywhere near what they usually serve. the mac & cheese tasted funny, the collard greens tasted like canned greens. the mashed potatoes & cornbread were really good. for now on i will be cooking and eating soul food at home. this food is too pricey not to be able to enjoy it

best food ever. this place is amazing. they have the friendliest staff, and the best food ever. my boyfriend and i went there, and we ordered fried chicken with collard greens and mac n cheese, rice and gravy and cornbread. when the food was brought to us, it was fresh and hot. when finished we were stuff! definitely recommend going here.

home for supper. i am fresh out of hip replacement surgery. i am anemic as a result and i was craving liver and onions. it took us a few years in this area to find angel's and it is like finding buried treasure. the cooking is done by order, the staff is friendly and hard working and the atmosphere is homey. best of all, the food is out of this world good! i am from sc, i was raised on this kind of cooking and this was perfection. i make darn good collards, if i do say so myself, and these were totally, according to my husband, as good as mine. someone knows how to cook them! hurrah. run, do not walk, to angel's and get a taste of down home done right! if i had stars to award, angel's would get 10.

fabulous food!! like your grandma's cooking if tour grandma can really cook! not to be missed if you're in sanford.

the best in town. the greatest cook is grandma for home made cooking i love her cooking and she is a very nice lady who will serve you with a smile exspecially the chitling plates oh yea her liver,gravy with onoins plates are off the chain to and the home made pound cakes
