you must eat here! !!!. i had given up on really good authentic italian at an affordable price - then went to amore. authentic, delicious food, a great variety, and the chef -jenna-was the nicest lady whom i now have a food crush on. this is the place to go for dates, with friends, with the family - for anything. i immediately made a date to go back - even before i ordered my entree! i really did feel like i was back in italy!

holy wow. quite possibly the best italian food i've ever had. the staff was extremely courteous and attentive. everything we ordered was great. i can see why this place gets so much hype. definitely worth whatever wait time for a table.

last night my wife and i dined at amore with high expectations as we have dined at this establishment before. our dining experience was pleasant and our food was great; i ordered the squid ink and seafood dish and my wife ordered the pork shank and risotto dish. unfortunately, at around 3am i became violently ill with food poisoning. in an attempt to prevent anyone else from suffering from food poisoning i called the restaurant where i was put on hold while the hostess took my message to the manager. when the hostess returned i was informed that it takes 24 hours for food poisoning to set in which is not true. see the following link for more information: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/001652.html and also, that their seafood was "fine". i was not looking for a handout or anything to be done other than the restaurant to be aware of the matter and prevent some other diner from visiting the toilet at 3am like i did. all i ask is that the restaurant take ownership of their mistake and not provide incorrect information to customers. unfortunately, my wife and i will not be dining at amore in the future.

i went to trattoria amore to find myself disenchanted from all of the great things i keep hearing about it. to start, the place needs a face-lift. the decor makes me feel like i'm dining out in 1989. i went on a monday evening with my wife and only a few other people were eating there that night. the service was humble, but not impressive. we had a couple of salads which her's was okay, mine was rather good. i ordered the beef feature with a glass of chianti. after a long wait, the feature (a 36$ veal porterhouse) came out way overcooked. the server took care of the problem, but it cost my wife another 25 minutes of waiting; making us late for our show that we had tickets for. it seemed like everyone was either preoccupied, or having a bad night. my wife and i both work in the industry and are super understanding diners, excellent tippers, and easy to please. this place just does not seem to have it. i don't see what the hype is all about...

i have to apologize for the copy/paste from my yelp review, but it covers the food, the service, and the ambiance.  to summarize, though, all three are spectacular.  extensive review below;

as we pulled into the parking lot, my girlfriend (now fiancé) said it best, "this place is a real hidden gem." amore offers amazing food and great portions at a completely fair price, but the real highlight is the atmosphere and the staff.

the atmosphere:

“quaint” isn’t the right word, but it’s the first word that comes to mind. amore is a small, vibrant, authentic italian restaurant that radiates a sense of tradition, family, and joy – which only helps reinforce the “italy” feel amore naturally generates. perfectly blending classy with casual, amore is intimate enough for a very romantic evening, but lively enough to get together with a group. the atmosphere draws you in with welcoming arms and makes for a very enjoyable dining experience.

the staff:

there’s a lot to be said about the staff at amore. every member of the wait-staff is extremely friendly, bubbly, and helpful when it comes to the menu. their enthusiasm gives off a sense that they genuinely enjoy their jobs. we’ve always felt welcomed and appreciated. it is because we are always treated so well that we will be coming back time and time again.

in addition to the tremendous wait-staff, there’s chef jenna. if you visit amore and don’t know who chef jenna is, she’s the firecracker that periodically walks the dining room with an impossibly large smile. it is clear that she is very proud of her food (with good reason) and very thankful for her patrons. extremely energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate, chef jenna is a cut above the rest.

michael. i’m not sure his official title, but he deserves a special note in my review. manager? love-wizard? either way, when i spoke to michael about my plans to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé of course) his excitement rivaled only my own. he was equally as thrilled as i was and helped me tremendously making sure my proposal plans went off without a hitch. he took a lot of time, care, and effort to ensure the moment was as special as possible. like the rest of the staff, michael is compassionate and eager to help. great service!

the food:

although the atmosphere and staff are the shining stars, the food should not be counted out. amore offers real italian cuisine, fresh ingredients, and a simple menu that has something for every taste. there is no need for an extra-large menu with the same, stale, predictable “italian” dishes. there is no need for unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks either. the menu is refreshing. whether you’re looking to try something new or like to stick with a more familiar dish, amore has something that’ll be sure to please. as i stated before, amore offers delicious food and great portions all at a reasonable price. can’t be beat!

summary – with an enthusiastic staff, intoxicating atmosphere, and great food, amore is a hidden gem that shouldn’t be overlooked.

lasagna. sky high portion of tender made in house lasagna noodles with lots of delicious layers of meat sauce and cheese; we often get this to go with an appetizer or salad as the lasagna portion size is large enough to split. yum!

sunday brunch. we rarely go to a brunch buffet but this was recently requested by our adult son for his birthday meal so off we went. what a wonderful surprise!! who would have guessed in an italian restaurant. you can get brunch anywhere so i decided to skip the waffle and made to order omelet station and concentrate on sampling a number of the italian offerings. pizza was wonderful. white truffled lasagna was incredible and so was the more traditional french toast lasagna; i could have stopped there and been very happy. tried a number of salads and appetizers, all of which were delicious. cannoli and panna cotta were also excellent. and just for fun, i tried biscuits and gravy... oh my gosh... the best i have ever eaten anywhere. buffets are not notoriously neat, what with customers helping themselves to the different foods but each station was maintained almost continuously so that food was presented hot, fresh and in an appetizing manner. we'll be happy to go again anytime!!

amore is italian for love, isn't it?. i first was introduced to amore for a mother's day luncheon one of my sorority sisters arranged for our group. holy toledo, what took me so long to discover this marvelous restaurant? owner/chef jenna did an italian cooking class for us and even made special accommodations for my daughter who is a vegetarian. the food was delicious and so much fun that we booked it for a couple's social later in the month.

since then, i've been back several times with different groups. they food and hospitality is always top notch. jenna and her husband mauricio treat everyone like family and go out of their way to make sure everything exceeds our expectations. i'm actually planning to use amore as a setting for a romantic dinner in one of the romance novels i write under my pen name stephanie michels.

i love this restaurant and definitely would recommend it to every one.

we are regular customers here at amore. last night went and had lasagna. asked for half the lasagna to be boxed up m. opened box today and it was a few green beans and a piece of meat. called amore and maurice the owner answered. i explained what happened and he wanted to know how long i had the food on the refrigerator and the name of server. he raised his voice and said he would talk to server but didn't know what i expected him to do. i asked to speak to jenna who knows we are regulars and he said
" i am not going to let you speak to jenna" and hung up on me

wonderful authentic italian cuisine. reasonable prices for both their food and wine. i have tried many dishes at amore and have never been disappointed. if adventurous try the many unique seafood and pasta entrees but the old standbys like lasagna are excellent choices too.
